It's a little unusual to be asked to order your dinner meal just after lunchtime but I did and I was very happy with the meal. I had the slow cooked venison for my mains and it was incredible. Very tasty and appeared to be a Western European style. Dessert was the home cooked vanilla and almond cheesecake and it had a good taste of vanilla without being overpowering.

It has been a very nice experience, the family place and with an unparalleled harmony. The view and tranquility in a scenic place in New Zealand take away all the compliments. Congratulations on so much family history and the beautiful lodge you have.

Live up the name, Kinloch is a proper place to be off the grid. Drive here is fun with small tiny roads, but once you are here you will be awarded by a nice view! They only serve light lunch, but staff are very friendly.

I hesitated to go to Kinloch because I'd been told there was nothing to see. Not only is the view splendid, but I discovered this lovely café quite by chance! Unfortunately I'd already eaten, but I had a great time on the terrace with a little refreshment. Well...
