Great local with absolute charm factor. Super friendly staff, and the locals were full of great banter. We had the dumplings, which were steamed, and the BLT. Both which were great bar meals. Rose and the Hazy pale ale on tap were great also. I know these guys have been struggling for staff to expand their hours, like much of QT at the moment - so all fingers crossed for them to be able to trade longer and serve more people through ๐ŸคžโœŒ๏ธ

We had a lovely relaxing train ride. Beautiful countryside. And the food back at the cafe was fantastic.

Stopped by here on way to Queenstown, food choices limited - think priority is pub rather than cafe. Place had a greasy smell and could do with proper clean. Although on plus side Woman serving pleasant, food arrived in timely fashion. Concerning that during pandemic Manager making coffee and serving customers seemed to think proper mask wearing optional - hoping he will fix this to keep everyone safe ๐Ÿ˜ท

The Flyer used to be the pride of Kingston, but now it rots in the rain.

The steam train was the symbol of the small town on the southern tip of Lake Wakatipu, where fog creeps from the surrounding mountains and descends like smoke, hanging above a long, stony beach.

While the train slides further into decay, expansion plans for the community are enormous. Huge demand for housing in Queenstown, which is quickly becoming hemmed in by its geography, is putting responsibility on towns such as Kingston to ease the pressure.

Its 200 houses may soon become 1100, based on a private, billion dollar development consented behind the township, which would all but...

Beautiful wee cafe, we had lunch here after doing the flyer so was a little busy but the staff were friendly and coped with the busyness! Food was great, best chicken burger ive had, and my man had the blue cod and cleaned up the plate. Mocha was delicious too. They had a range of pizzas, a couple of burgers, a salad, and a couple of other mains, so a few different options. A little on the pricey side but was expected as tourist attraction and far away from a supermarket/bigger town. We would definitely come back next time we visit kingston,...

Food was ok - place was busy so took a long time for the food to come out. About 40mins I'd say. Burger tasted off but the fish and chips was good.

I'd suggest getting rid of the carpet as food was all over it and it looked yuck. Wood flooring would be easier to clean.

There were so many kids and their parents didn't take control of them so they were running around screaming which meant we didn't enjoy the experience. I get kids are kids but the parents could be considerate of other patrons and tell their kids...
