Cafe Ignition — Restaurant in Palmerston North

My flight was delayed so I was in the upstairs lounge for quite some time on Friday, 23/12/22. While there I had the opportunity to watch the staff and mingle with the patrons in the Cafe. Many patrons who ordered coffees weren't served them in the Cafe's coffee cups but takeaway cups. Using the excuse that they had run out of cups when clearly there were cups sitting on their coffee machine! The Bacon & Egg Muffin Split which I ordered was dry the egg and bacon was like rubber definitely not freshly made in the kitchen! When it was brought to my table the waitress dropped it on the floor. Apologized and said that she would get me a replacement. Well I wonder if she actually did... she returned 2 minutes later with a Bacon & Egg Muffin Split. When I questioned this with a staff member I was told that it was a fresh one but not freshly made in the kitchen as all there produce is...

Five of us went to Cafe Ignition for brunch because we were at the airport seeing off my friends elderly father on a plane to Australia. We all ordered drinks and food, I ordered a very hot chocolate ( I made it very clear at the time) this came back LUKE warm as were all the drinks. ( I sent mine back which was a waste of time).The food was totally unacceptable. The egg and bacon muffin splits were disgusting who wants to eat a rubbery egg? and the rest of the food was barely warm, there was no care in taking the orders, two of the orders were totally wrong! The attitude of the staff needed a lot to be desired because they were completely disinterested in our complaints we were made to feel everything was too much trouble.. no apology was given as they just didn’t care! we won’t be recommending them and we will never go...

Two stars for the average peppermint slice, the chips however, which were way overpriced, were too salty to eat. And too salty by a long long way as if they had been dropped in a bowl of salt, rolled around in it then had salt added, then added even more. And not many options st the airport for something hot when your flight has been delayed! Service was blah, counter staff disinterested teenagers and all in all just an expensive disappointment.
