Hills Cafe — Restaurant in Puketāpapa

MINUS ONE !!! Came this morning with some friends. Everyone got coffees except me. Even a customer noticed I had been forgotten. When I asked where it was the coffee maker said there wasn't one. When the lady at the till was questioned she replied no pay no coffee. Excuse me!!!! Two coffees were requested one was paid for and one was a free one. So you take money but no free coffee. She made no effort to sort out my concerns which was worse for me. My friends and I left and me angry with no coffee. Will not be coming here again. Had lunch here today. Somehow our mains order fell through the cracks and wasn’t delivered after some 20 mins. The manager was extremely apologetic, didn’t charge us for the main and also offered complimentary coffees and a piece of cake. What a class act in treating your customers. Accidents do happen. No big deal. But his solicitous service in rectifying it is to be commended. We will certainly be back. Terrible service. Instead of being greeted with smile as a large party of 15. We were told it was "not good for us" and that we should book "as we were holding up tables other customer could use and keeping the chef too busy". The place was empty and and only 7 other customers came in since. Obviously not keen to take on an opportunity to make money and terrible customer service. You also have to order from the counter and pay up front. Sorry will go fo more customers minded cafe from now on....
