Went there on a really busy day. Took about half an hour before we could find a free table, then about another half an hour on a queue standing before we could order, and then waited over an hour before we got our food (we ordered kitchen menu). Staff were friendly enough and handled the pressure well IMO. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There is outdoor play area for kids. Water is self service. Separate counters for ice cream and cheese purchases. Food was good to okay. A little pricey for a cafe. Food prices range from about 10 to 22 dollars. Expect to spend about 100 without drinks and 150 with drinks for 4 adults. I wasn't too hot on the grain bread that came with my sandwich as it lacked texture and broke apart. Ice creams were good but were too rich and too sweet for our liking. We were poured room temperature white wine on a hot summer day. Alcoholic beverages are around 10 dollars. Was it worth the 2 hour wait? Most definitely not. Would I make a deliberate planned trip back here for the experience? Most probably, not. But if happen to be in the area or passing by and in need of a quick bite, ice cream, or cheese, but they're not busy then I'd recommend it.

Off SH1 into mountains. Don’t drive fast as you will miss this lovely cheese making Company. Busy during ☀️ days ie spring, summer & autumn. Nice place for a chill with its own house made brand cheese. Friendly staff during busy period. Tables are quickly cleared after guest leave. Quality chocolate or caramel milk drink is on top of the world. 4 intensity of blue cheese. Cashier willing to offer a taste of a variety of cheese @ your pleasure. Pay via eftpos or credit card. Both indoor, outdoor ie garden or deck sittings. Long tables sitting around 15 or 20 pax inside right next to “sleeping cheese room & a see through cheese processing window. Clean open glass concept on cheese making. Choose any 3 types of cheese with a cheese platter. Soft cheese had an almost melt down texture served with 3 types of biscuits & a small bunch of green grapes. Lots of parking. A medium size playground for kids outdoor enjoyment. Free flow of self service chilled sky juice.

We had just landed here after 3pm and so we were told that we were late for the Cheese platter. Only cabinet food was available after 3pm. We ordered a Beef and blue cheese pie from the cabinet along with some drinks. The coffee came in about 10 minutes. After another 10 minutes or so, the beef & blue cheese pie was served. It was a visual disappointment like something had accidentally been placed on it. At $13.95 for a Pie from the cabinet we had expected something a lot better. They totally forgot about a third drink which was just something from their cold cabinet. We reminded them about it after about 40 minutes of waiting and it was then delivered with an apology. All in all it was a wasted trip and not a great experience. The wait staff were friendly and polite but the food and service needs a lot more improvement.

We had the cheese platter, which true to its reputation, was amazing with its dips and chutney. Coffee flat white were great.

To the manager in charge yesterday who a) Gave me a partially empty bottle with leaves and debris at the bottom, when I asked for water, expecting me to wash it, fill it, and then get my own glasses b) Shut the partition door, and the main entrance to the outside garden, of the room we were still eating in, isolating us from the main cafe.

Regulate your emotions. A smiling demeanour is needed for work in the hectic hospitality industry. Customers only get a glimpse of you when they visit, and make judgements from there. Maybe you had a bad day at home, but do not bring it to work.

Delegate work and responsbility to other staff- a sector of the cafe to look after, so that a) All clients are cared for, and no one is neglected b) As the manager, you are able to oversee operations without feeling stressed out managing the frontline by yourself.

Communicate to customers with respect and an open body language, regardless of how difficult they may be. It is not easy but stay professional.

To the other staff, good job. it was Easter Sunday, and busy. Hence, it is natural for service to be slow, but you guys were able to remain composed, friendly and professional with a smile on the face.

I will like to thank Georgia for apologising on behalf of the manager, acknowledging the bitter experience, and handling the issue in a sensitive and...

Thought of the Puhoi cheese factory is a great place to take my uncle visiting from the UK so We want for lunch as a family of 5 ordered and I had something that was called Welsh rabbit and was definitely not a good meal for one person better Sheared if anything it had very over dryed bread and a bad coloured soupy consistency that said combining of three cheeses but it looked very unappetising and it didn't even taste of any cheese or really anything it was very boring and bland and it came with a sad looking side salad chutney and a mushroom the Mushroom looked like it was totally chargrilled and tasted yuck, the rest of the family had different things my dad a latte which was practically cold, my uncle ordered something like the blue cheese croissant which was overshadowed by mushrooms!!!! and the blue cheese was very minimal to none also accompanied by a side salad which was drowned in dressing and looking sad as well, my sister ordered something that came with chutney and when the food turned up there was no chutney on her dish lack of care or effort in the food was very poor and just a note to the chef that if you're going to highlight your cheese why let the other flavours overshadow what you're trying to highlight is the cheese right!? that has to be the best and most biggest flavour in the dish I would think I'm no chef but to go to A Cheese Factory an get no yum, beautiful, cheesey gooodniss is just sad won't be going back anytime...
