This place is very eclectic and interesting, and it’s a great place to sit and take a break before or after the wonderful hike to the beautiful beaches nearby. There is a limited, offering of drinks and food, but I did not try any of the food, because I did not trust, it quality. There are some cool critters and animals that walk around the property which are fun as well. Don’t expect customer service from the lady that works there, but oh well she takes your money and gives you your drinks. Overall, it’s a nice little place but go in with the expectation that it’s not five star customer service. They don’t have much competition in the area so what can you expect. 🤣

Please ignore the weird bad reviews - the French girl who served us was perfectly nice with a very chill vibe. The coffee was awesome, music was good, and the place has a great quirky feel to it. I had a slice of quiche that was tasty, and this beautiful peacock came to try and get some. This place deserves more than the current star rating - go hang out and enjoy a good coffee before or after visiting Wharakiki Beach.

Really cute little cafe that we were not expecting at the end of our walk ! Had a quick bite to eat of carrot cake and caramel slice (carrot cake was heaps better than the caramel slice which had no flavour...) Lady was a bit disinterested at first but was actually quite friendly

Run away !!! Use the tourist place to sell coffee with expired milk shameless. But wasn't the worse. Because those two women couldn't accept their mistake and took it really bad. I was thinking the story stop here but when I returned at my car, park in front of their coffee I found one of my tyre flat and for sure someone did it with a knife. So I'm sorry for this person who must have a really sad life. (If you read this comment I let there a phone number of psychiatrist if you want to quit your frustrations by other way than flat the tyre of your customers Martin Kelly 15 alma Street Buxton square ,Nelson central +64273721333) I told this story to the police so if something like that happened to you with those awful persons feel free to do it too just to stop them. To finish if you want to take a good coffee with safety...

As coffee addicts staying in Pakawau and intent on exploring the northern most corner of the South Island we visited the Archway cafe on each of the three days we were in this region. It's a splendidly quirky place, with interesting furniture and peacocks to entertain. It's very remote so we didn't expect a wide menu offering - what is on offer is our kind of food - delicious muffins. The service too is quirky - as befits the remoteness of this cafe. It's a place to chill - and we were more concerned with the quality of the coffee than light banter with the barista. If you relax into the laid back feel of this place and enjoy the quirkiness rather than expecting city slick service, you can have an outstanding cafe experience. I'm just really grateful to find a great coffee place in this...

The environment along with the peacocks were pretty cool, but unfortunately we're the only positive thing

The owner of the cafe was quite rude and unpleasant scowling at me like a bulldog. She had the kind of attitude of. I hate this job and I hate serving tourists.

I also ordered a chocolate chip muffin that tasted like it came out of an easy bake child's playset. It seems like it was missing a key ingredient like eggs or flour, couldn't quite put together, but it tasted horrible.

No trash cans to throw away rubbish from stuff you purchased from the cafe, guess they want you to take your trash out, overall, very unfriendly place. We're totally advise against going...
