This review is from a boy that has had all sorts of Nasi Lemak from his hometown for years (biased)
1st of all the nasi lemak is at a okay portion priced at $20. Rice is fragrant and it's very very good! However the sambal was a bit too sweet it tasted like chinese sambal. Sambal has to be good for the whole dish to work so that's basically what brought the whole rating down. Chicken was okay but the portion of it was a bit underwhelming compared to the portion of the rice. Side note: additional rice is another 5$ for the same portion so you be the judge of that Overall 3.6/5
Service is okay nothing bombastic about the service but no noticeable flaws as well. Tables are wiped clean before we got to the table. Overall 4/5
Atmosphere is okay i guess. It was a rainy day and the shop somehow got their ac on instead of a heater so that's odd. Spacing is at on the fence between comfortable and uncomfortable. Won't effect much if you're not moving alot in the cafe. Overall 3.8/5
Would I come here? Probably. But there is so much potential to the place and should be utilized properly. Overall the place feels just like another cafe by the beach nothing bombastic about it....
Read moreFood is delicious and portion size is generous. The Brunch menu has varied options of sweet and savoury meals for a hearty Brunch. Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang as a brunch option is a must try. But bear in mind the Nasi Lemak has spicy sambal on the side. There are also generously sized sandwiches and pies available at the counter ready to be heated should One not want something from the Brunch menu. The the Beef Rendang Pie and the Chicken Panini is already a good serving size for one.
There are Vegetarian, Dairy-Free and Gluten free options in the Brunch Menu and at the counter (for baking deliciousness:pies, sandwiches/paninis etctc).
Beef and Chicken are also Halal
The cafe has on street parking that’s on a first come first serve basis. Spacious enough to have a group of 6 people for Brunch. Could extend to up to 8 or more but might have to combine tables.
There is wheel chair accessibility from the side entrance/back entrance.
It’s well worth a try for a cafe that’s a near good ocean views. I’ve been back for Brunch for several times and will continue on for the...
Read moreOh dear. This is one of those places which deliberately does not put prices on the cabinet food. Makes life very awkward for customers. We will not be returning.
Cheese scone at $5.90 was okay, but over-priced for the quality - too much cheese on top and too little in the scone. Butter in plastic packets is not what you expect. Feedback from group was that mushroom and faloumi croissant was delicious although their total bill was more than they expected. Coffee okay, cheese roll okay, lemon slice "shrug", turmeric latte to be avoided.
Service poor - drinks and some food arrived, but one of the group eventually had to go back to chase up the food for the other two people. And the lock in the toilet needs...
