Wowzers, what an amazing experience, easily the best I’ve ever had in a wine region. The warm, personable hospitality was both humble and attentive. We were given a wine tasting right at our table with our meals (I’m not sure if that’s normally done, but it made the experience so much better to be able to pair each wine with the food). We had two kids with us and they were made to feel welcome, never a burden. The host even engaged with them on their level, joking around, telling them they could use their hands to eat the perfectly roasted soy-braised duck, and making sure they got everything off the bones. The food itself was outstanding, expertly prepared with local ingredients and absolutely delicious. It had all the quality of a five-star fine dining restaurant, but with generous portions and excellent value, and no skid marks or foam. A main and entrée was plenty for a big eater, with no need for a “stop at McDonald’s afterwards.” It was the opposite of pretentious, yet every bit as luxurious.

Had a great lunch here today, fresh and simple ingredients cooked with care to allow their natural qualities to shine. Will definitely be back!

We decided to visit The Wine Kitchen for lunch today. What a great find. The food was exceptional, our steak was melt in the mouth and the salad was fresh and delicious. Service was very attentive and fautless We don’t normally eat desert, but we did today and that was wonderful. Decided later to do a tasting in their tasting room which opened a week ago. Huw was a great sommelier and happy to share his extensive knowledge with us. All in all we couldn’t have been happier. We’ll be back when we are next back in the area. Parking was not an issue and we also stayed over night...

The Wine Kitchen was a standout find during our stay in Blenheim. By the time we had consumed our Octopus entree we were convinced enough to try booking for lunch the following day (sorry booked out) but did manage to secure a seat for dinner. The food was amazing in execution and presentation. Our waitstaff were friendly and totally engaged. On both evenings each choice was superbly cooked and a total taste sensation. Cannot rate...
