Velo Café & Beer Garden — Restaurant in South Island

The bike park is awesome and there's The Stoaker food shack available outside but Velo charge top prices and added a surcharge. Any business that adds a surcharge I would normally walk out because it's just poor form. However, The Stoaker wasn't open yet and to be fair, the coffee was great. They had added a surcharge when it wasn't a public holiday which is ignorant to say the least. I'll go back to the bike park but avoid spending anything with Velo as the manager decided to argue (wrongly) and then added their surcharge to prepackaged retail drinks...

Had the braised lamb sandwich after doing the big bike park lap. Not your usual slap together fare you often get at bike parks or ski fields. This was absolutely delicious - top notch flavours and made to order really quickly. Went back after another lap for a salted caramel choc brownie - that just hit the spot.
