"North Drift Cafe in Ahipara is a hidden gem nestled along the entrance into Ahipara next to Ahipara school. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warmth and a laid-back atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The cafe's beachy decor and panoramic view of the large mountain created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing dining experience.

I was excited by the menu offerings at North Drift Cafe. The dishes were beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, local ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty brunch or a light salad, there is something for everyone on the menu. I highly recommend trying their eggs Benedict as they source their produce directly from the fresh local areas in the Northland.

What truly sets North Drift Cafe apart is their commitment to sustainability and supporting local suppliers. It's clear that the team puts a lot of thought and care into every aspect of their menu, from the coffee beans they use to the homemade pastries on display and cakes yumo.

Not only is the food exceptional, but the service at North Drift Cafe is top-notch. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

Whether you're a local looking for a new favorite spot or a traveler passing through Ahipara, North Drift Cafe is a must-visit destination. It's the perfect place to unwind, enjoy delicious food, and soak in the natural beauty of the Northland coast. I can't wait to go back and explore more of what this charming cafe...

First of all its to say this Cafe has a very nice location and atmosphere. We came to the cafe to get some breakfast this Saturday. On the entrance it says breakfast and lunch 7am till 3pm so we looked at the breakfast menu found sth we wanted and ordered. The waitress informed us that breakfast apparently finishes around 11:30 we were disappointed... anyways kitchen said they could still make it YEY... :) So we sat down and waited waited and waited 20 minutes for a tea... 1:10h for the food... Waitress apologized with a bored uninterested 'sorry about the wait' wow thanks for that. So service was very disappointing BUT now about the food... Very delicious and good price, we enjoyed the meal :)

Kitchen should really hire more staff!!! Especially for a Saturday i mean come on an hour and ten minutes for an big breakfast and a toast even if it was after the unofficial official...

Disappointed the staff weren't honest enough to tell us they had run out of swiss cheese and beetroot relish, and then served my partner's vegie burger without either. When she brought this to their attention the cook pointed out it had feta in the pattie, but the menu states the burger has additional Swiss cheese and when this was pointed out, the cook asked counter staff if this was true, they said yes. So once that was sorted a slice of Swiss cheese was brought to my partner on a plate for her to add to her own burger herself.

After all that, despite decent size of burgers and chips, taste on both vegie and angus burgers were average. Vegie would have been massively improved with beetroot relish. Each burger cost $21 and came with excellent crinkle-cut fries, $1 aioli punnet extra.

Please just be honest with customers and tell them you've run out of...

Average cafe in Ahipara, walking distance from the holiday camp. Small menu but what we had was good: Teneke toastie combo had delicious chicken + tomato relish and was perfectly cheesy, chips were also perfectly battered and fried; choc/banana muffin was so moist and full of flavor. Drinks: Flat white was subpar, tasted bitter and lots of grounds left in my cup when I finished. However Reboot smoothie was nice. Clean toilet; says there’s wifi but didn’t work; ramp to front door makes it accessible to all. Wouldn’t go out of my way to visit but good option if you’re in town.

Lovely staff-friendly& helpful.setting is lovely with seating in or out. Food great with good portion size. Coffee fab. Highly recommend. Placed right in front of Tuatua rentals so handy!Stopped in for meal after hiring quads from Tuatua rentals. Kindly made kids waffles after official breakfast time had finished (had.enough batter.left.to.do it) kids loved the waffles & i enjoyed my pesto bacon, avocado ciabatta. (Bit heavy on the pesto as was quite overpowering though still lovely meal!! - hence 4 star). 👌
