A quirky wee place, at an orchard , on the way between Ettrick and Roxborough. Well worth stopping by for lunch or a snack. Sometimes, you run into a spot that feels like you're at home. It could be the food that is all homemade or the way the sole owner offers that little bit extra. A couple came in with their children and ordered a smoothie. She offered to split it in two "as they are large." That was gratefully accepted. I must say the servings are generous. We had the ham, tomato, and lettuce sandwich with good old condensed milk dressing. One bite and I was 9 years old and on holiday. Thick slabs of ham cut off the bone, seasoned slices of tomato and crisp lettuce drizzled with sweet tangy dressing, freshly made, and Juicy.
I ordered tea and was told to hold on a second while she put on the jug. See homely greatness. She also has various items and brick a brack for sale, so there's plenty to look at.

As soon as we walked in, the owner put some freshly baked plum and chocolate chip muffins in the case, so we purchased one in addition to our flat whites! (Large flat white is $5.50 and a muffin is $6). The muffin was still warm, so the chocolate was gooey and the plums were soft. It was absolutely delicious! Our flat whites were also wonderful, and the milk was steamed to perfection.
