During my recent visit to Southland, I had the pleasure of dining at Brunel Peaks Cafe, and it was nothing short of a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with the warmest welcome by the staff, setting the tone for a memorable meal.
The food at Brunel Peaks Cafe is a true testament to the culinary skills of the kitchen. Each dish was a masterpiece, not only in taste but also in presentation. It’s evident that a lot of thought and care goes into preparing each meal, making the dining experience truly special. The flavors were rich, ingredients fresh, and every bite left me wanting more. It’s rare to find a place that pays such close attention to detail, and Brunel Peaks Cafe certainly stands out for it.
What made the meal even more enjoyable was the attentive service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, frequently checking in to see if we needed anything. Their recommendations were spot-on, enhancing our dining experience with their knowledge and passion for the food they serve.
In conclusion, Brunel Peaks Cafe is a must-visit for anyone in Southland. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the delicious food, beautiful presentation, and exceptional service make it an unforgettable dining destination. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreMy wife and I were travelling in this area on the 29th February - the day that all the self-service petrol stations were out of order, as their computer systems didn't recognise this leap day of the year!! Headed for Te Anau, we were driving on fumes as we passed the Brunel Peaks Cafe, having not been able to fill up at Tuatapere, we were pretty desperate. We pulled into the cafe as they were closing to see if we could get advice on where to get some fuel. Ciara (sorry for my spelling if this isn't right) who works at the cafe was just leaving for the day - What an absolute superstar! She phoned around and tried to find us some fuel at nearby farms but her phone died, so her boss Jude jumped in and called the locals. Between them, they managed to find a nearby farm who agreed to sell us some fuel, then Ciara went out of her way with us following to the farm. We owe you one Ciara and Jude, and a massive thanks to Victoria at the farm - we would have been really stuck without you guys :) Fabulously friendly, helpful staff, and a beautiful cafe....

I was particularly interested to see the use of the shipping containers and the use of locally reclaimed timber. There is a herb garden outside and the owners said we could help ourselves which we did and added it to our evening meal. A very diverse patronage, cyclist's, camper vans, a few on a motorbike your, families and local farmers popping in to have a beer with mates at the end of the day. Very chilled, I would definitely not drive past it when I'm back down...
