If you're on the Rail Trail, COME HERE! Stopped in while passing for the kids to have a snack and toilet break - friendly staff and everything is great : they have cosy tables, a book shelf to borrow from, and a roaring fire. 1 delectable chocolate hazelnut tart, 1 flaky gooey ham and cheese croissant, 1 almond cake, 2 hot choccys and 2 great flat whites later... And the floor of the loo is cute!

BEST OF ALL - if you're biking towards Lauder and want an easy fancy French meal for dinner - they had sous vide frozen meals (chicken Provencal and beef cheeks) for $10 a package, and let me tell you, after eating pub food and chips for the past few days, that stuff is gold. The best $10 you'll ever spend (if you are staying in Lauder on the trail, the only place to eat is the pub, and average (avg flavour) meals are $30). And the serving size of the frozen meal, seriously would feed two adults if a slice of bread or a potato...

I stopped at this place yesterday for a quick bite off of the highway and wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The food is cheap and delicious.

I had my first cheese rolls here, and they were spectacular! If you decide to stop here (which you should), do yourself a favor and get one - they're so cheap you have no reason not to.

I am vegetarian, and Muddy Creek's veggie burger may have been the best one I've ever eaten. It was full of interesting ingredients that worked together beautifully. It was sloppy, huge, and somewhat difficult to eat, but it was magnificent!

The staff was also extremely pleasant. Everyone was very friendly and enthusiastic.

If you're passing through and looking for a place to stop for a meal or a quick bite I highly recommend Muddy Creek! It was so good I felt I had to share my opinion and help support...

Unpretentious appearance and we were greeted by a customer going out with a big cardboard box full of brown paper bagged lunches. She said " this place is GREAT" as she left. I got a fisherman's basket which was the crispness and hottest meal I have had anywhere!! My wife ,with dietary restrictions, had all of her criteria met and brother-in-law had a beautifully cooked/presented all day breakfast( small size) which was very generous. We sat outside in warm sunny conditions and watched as most of the truck drivers came in and bought lunch. All up a great...

Great cafe, delicious cabinet food and breakfast options. They even do takeaways like burgers and fish n chips. We tried the Benedicts and honestly one of the best I've tried in Otago, perfectly poached eggs, fresh home made focaccia and In-House smoked salmon, wow! My partner had them with avo and bacon, also great quality with local ingredients. The new owners received you with a smile and very welcoming. Great option for a stop around while exploring Central Otago. 100% Recommended

Stopped here for a warm break on a cold day & what a cute wee cafe. I bought a hot chocolate and a Torta Bianca My go to is Almond Milk, but they were out, so I got an okay Oat Hot Chocolate, The Torta Bianca however was just amazing. So good that I took 2 for later with a Blueberry which did not disappoint. Will definitely go back for the baked goods.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

What an amazing Cafe and wonderful owners/staff. We ate dinner AND breakfast here. Both were delicious and affordable with large portions. The coffee was tasty and strong and the hotcakes for breakfast were particularly delectable! Can't reccomends enough!
