This is a terrible place* if you just want to stop in for one beer and leave - I never managed it over the six or so times I have visited in the last few weeks. They have the best chips in Central Otago, crisp until the last one and with a hint of smoked paprika. On Sunday, they did me a terrific short rib beef sandwich with slaw and a piquant sauce, chips on the side and a beer for $20. They have four taps - three of their own brews and a guest - as well as bottled beers, wine and coffee. I was very happy with their own pale ale and pilsner. The staff were really nice, there's a garden bar out the back (it had a bouncy castle on my last visit) and several spaces indoors. *Just to avoid misunderstandings - it is not in any sense a terrible place: in my various visits to Central over the past few weeks, it is by far my favourite.

Forget about fancy burgers with over-the-top sauces. If you’re in Alex and want a real double-decker burger, this is the spot. The portions are generous, the fries are solid, and the taste is on point. I’ll definitely be back to try the brisket next time. The setting is cosy with a cool industrial vibe. Feels like a true hidden gem.

What a hidden Gem! Down in Alex for a few days from the Beer capital but this place gives our breweries a run for their money. Fantastic Hazy, amazing Double beef burger and what a cool vibe! Highly recommend and I'll be back if I'm back for work.

I forgot to give this place a review but we had a lovely time here. it is situated in industrial part of town which I liked. Beer was great, we ordered food too & the platter with cheese &meat etc was really nice also were the tortillas. The owner was very friendly and we enjoyed our trip here while staying in chatto/ Alex Otago very much! good luck with the...

Excellent recent addition to Otago with a delicious pilsner, a collab with Rhyme x Reason, and a Hazy you could spend hours on, all on tap. Seems like a local secret likely to draw a few craft-beer pilgrims.

Definitely worth trundling down and planning on leaving a little better and a little blunter as a result of superb local beer and banter. Ya see what...
