We were one of many who whilst cycling along the Otago Rail Trail stopped at this wee gem for lunch. What. A. Spot. The food was phenomenal and staff are absolutely amazing, very down to earth and friendly. Thank you team! Keep up the great work :)

Food was absolutely top-notch. This place is a must-stop on the rail trail. Friendly staff and pretty outdoor setting. Hot smoked salmon bruschetta was great, but the chocolate and raspberrry brownie was un-be-lievable

Stopped for a coffee on the rail trail. Great coffee! Even better scones. You must try the cheese scone. So good we bought more for our day of cycling. Thanks Helen!

One star because they do not accept credit or any non-Kiwi card. I’ve traveled all over NZ and never have I experienced any cafe that wouldn’t accept my credit card, even cafes that were more remote and in less touristy areas. I could not order anything or enjoy my time there and I’m extremely disappointed. Very unprofessional of them not to accommodate international visitors.

That being said, the staff was friendly, the place was cheerful, and I’m sure if you’re a local, their...

We stopped here in 2020 and it was a highlight and we couldnt wait to stop here again. Unfortunately we didnt know about having to prebook. They were open for other groups but we werent able to get anything as we didnt book. Edited to add a truck driver told us we couldnt get anything unless we had prebooked. Also didnt get the nicest vibe from here, so will admit we didnt attempt to enter. Very sad as 2020 Stationside Cafe was warm, lovely...
