As a Hamilton East local, I'm more than delighted to have Viands in the mix of our hectic hospitality precinct. I arranged for Viands to box up 50 or so sweet treats for a birthday party. They boxed and also sliced up some pieces for the occasion without any added cost. I think the prices of their products is bloody good considering the rising cost for all their ingredients. They are also generous with the sizes. We can't expect 80s or 90s prices. For comparison, the Viands custard slice is $5 while Volare's across the road is $9. As for the treats themselves, they are moreish and the classics definitely invoke that sense of nostalgia. Viands eclairs are a favourite but be warned they are addictive. The service at the Hamilton East shop is always cheerful and the comms were top notch re catering for an event. Keep being quality Viands....

Stopped by on the way to Waitomo glow worm caves as my mum needed to use the WC. Really nice young man, 20s curly dark brown hair, helped my mum who has a bit of difficulty walking to and back and we hadn't even bought anything!!!! Then we decided to buy some snacks and a tea for my mum. The pies/cakes were amazing ( I am a baker by trade, so believe me they are good ).......BUT the big Maori girl who took my order was so rude, I nearly walked out but for the friendly young man who saw what was happening and intervened and took over. He apologised for her behaviour and sent us away happy. I run a business and if someone spoke to a customer like that where I work, they would have to find...
