Truly a bakery/cafe worth visiting if you are in the area. We went here recently and the food is absolutely to die for. The flavours are just incredible. Whether it's on the menu or in the cabinet, there is a wealth of delicious options to choose from. They are well-known for their cronuts, micronuts, their pies and many other creative inventions. They have won numerous awards, and I can absolutely agree with that. I know a number of other places which have won awards which I definitely wouldn't agree with, but this is a clear 5/5. The atmosphere is nice, and it was busy when we went (even though the food didn't take too long to be delivered). The drinks range is great too, whether it's cold or hot - they've got you covered. If you are passing anywhere remotely along the way (SH2 or nearby), then you must make sure you stop for a bite here. Thanks to the wonderful team there who have really gone beyond to make it an incredible cafe/bakery well worth your time and money.

Pain Au Chocolate with the most chocolate inside that I have ever had anywhere in the world! Croissants, cronuts, donuts, brownies. Sandwhiches, filled croissants. Fresh baked full loaves available. A variety of sweet treats / tray bakes. A range of hot Pies, mince and cheese is good but could do with some more gravy and the cheese spread thorughout the pie and not just on top. Hot food available, eggs benedict and eggs on toast are both very popular. The benedict can be with bacon or ham. Cheery and friendly staff. Free water available. Own range of products to purchase and take home, such as jams and keep cups. Outdoor seating area. Child play area. Cold soft drinks available in the fridge. These are expensive! Disabled friendly entrance. Male, Female and disabled toilets. Cash accepted. Debit and Credit cards accepted with no credit card fee.

This award winning bakery and cafe is an absolute must when travelling between Carterton and Masterton. Mike and Rose the owners with their amazing staff really know how to make one feel welcome and valued as a customer. You can order off the menu and from the counter, with it all available to takeaway too. You're also able to order cakes etc to take home , along with an array of instore made fare. They have won many national awards; The Lamb cutlet & Kumara mash pie has twice been voted the best pie in New Zealand. Some of their breads have also won top place awards, as recent as 2018. Clareville Bakery & Cafe is (in my opinion), the best wee cafe in the lower North Island and you'd be a blimmin' mug if ya don't pop in...😁 Here is just some of the lovely fare available in the pics...ENJOY!

The BEST bakery in the lower Te Ika a Māui for sure! Maybe even the whole country?!? This is my staple, and I plan road trip timings so that I can stop here! :D I have had breakfast, brunch, and coffee with a treat here several times, and I keep coming back. These guys bake their own bread in several different varieties and they are all just delicious with crunchy crusts etc. depending on the type. I have had different sandwiches and filled croissants etc. here over the years, and each time everything is fresh, yummy, and top quality. Excellent value for money! I often grab takeaway as well, to take to whomever I'm visiting. Spreading that Clareville Bakery word around - their donuts and cronuts and other sweet things are mouth-wateringly yummy! :) I have also bought a birthday cake here a couple of times, and called the order in. Every time the cake was ready when intended, and of stellar quality, just as described. Their staff are helpful and informative if you call them, and when you're at the bakery, they somehow magically stay bright and helpful and fast despite big visitor numbers. This place is popular, and it's very easy to see WHY that is the case when you visit: everything I have tried so far has been absolutely delicious, and there's plenty of variety. I don't mind queueing for a moment if it's busy, because I can try to decide what to have and change my mind a million times before I get to the cashier!!! :D Everything is nicely on display so you can see what you're ordering. A top notch place to visit, a must-visit, really. Can't recommend this place...

We were recommended by a local to eat at this place today. I ordered a beef and red wine jus meat pie. The first pie I received was dry and would have to say, the worst meat pie I have ever seen, dry, no jus or gravey, just dry and looked like it was cooked days ago. I took the pie back and explained to the young lady that the pie was dry and not really a meat pie, she said "sorry I don't eat pies!" She gave me another one and it was exactly the same, dry and no red wine jus, nothing but just dry meat. I took this one back and was then directed to another lady whom said "maybe it was a bad batch, I'll just give you a refund or something different" I've eaten pies all around the world and would have to say, this was the driest, worst pie ever, so disappointing, especially given we were so hungry, if you are looking for a good meat pie in this area, drive to Greytown and eat at French...
