Restaurante La Campana — Restaurant in Managua

This is an extremely large restaurant in the Bello Horizonte area of Managua.

While the visit started off friendly enough, when it became apparent to the server I was a solo Diner where there are only 4 or 6 top tables, the my server pretty much stopped coming over to see me so I had to play catch as catch can friending a server or a busser and at one point even a manager to get something to my table.

Regarding the food I only had an order of wings because there were 10 complete wings and they were enormous and they were cooked perfectly and came with ranch and hot sauce on the side. I also asked about a bowl of consomme that I saw on the menu and one of the servers brought it out to me with compliments from the kitchen. The consomme, which many of the similar-style restaurants in Managua also have, is made directly from the beef drippings of the roasts and the beef that they cut. This consomme is excellent. Now, regarding the prices, I have to say that a Nicaraguan restaurant in the Bello Horizonte area that has a $26 steak is definitely overpriced! Prices high for the quality of food, but that’s OK, what I’m not happy with, is the service.......I don’t understand why you have to wait 15 minutes to get your next beer.....waitress did not show up at my table for that period of time......too bad we as costumers have to go after the server to get what we want, they never come to your table unless otherwise two thumbs down.
