El Jardin Hotel Boutique — Restaurant in San Juan del Sur (Municipio)

We stayed in Montezuma for 3 nights at this hotel. The location is good - Montezuma is a small town and the hotel is at the start of the town with an easy walk into the centre. (It will only take you 5 mins to walk the whole town).|Rooms were a bit dated in terms of furnishings and decor. But comfortable enough. We did have a small problem with ants in our room which the hotel manager said was due to them having sprayed the grounds and so the ants were coming into the room. There was not a lot of them, they were mostly dying, and they did not bite. It was just a bit annoying. |There is on restaurant on site so you cannot book breakfast. The hotel does provide filtered water, coffee, biscuits and bananas every morning in reception which was nice. |There is no parking on sit, and so you need to park on the road. Montezuma is small and parking can be difficult but we never had to park more than a 2 min walk away. |In summary, a nice enough hotel as a base to explore the area....

There were ants in two of my rooms. They were plentiful and were crawling up on the bed space. The Air conditioning did not work in two of the rooms. The sheets were stained and the pillows were not washed. There was a kissing bug in one of my rooms as well. Kissing bugs can lead to Chagas Disease, which can potentially lead to life long heart complications. It was a very dirty experience. I had left my apple watch in one of my rooms and when I came back to pick it up the settings had been messed with, so had the wallpaper. The pool was the dirtiest pool I have ever seen. Save your money and avoid staying at this hotel. Spend a little extra money and stay at TreeCasa resort instead. That place is amazing! The room was horrible. The beds were about as hard as bricks. The bathrooms were disgusting. There was no hot water in two of the rooms that I had. When I went to complain to the staff they said that there was nothing that they could do about it. I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend and his family from on April 3rd. We reserved the hotel for four nights but ended up checking out the next morning because of how absolutely disgusting the hotel was. The sheets in our room were stained, there was grease all over our sheets. The bed felt like you were sleeping on wood. There were ants all over our room. The bathroom was revolting, but not quite as revolting as the state of the pool at the hotel. That pool must not have been cleaned in over a month. You could not pay me to get in there. I left my apple watch there, and when I went to pick it up the settings were messed with. I had left it there for less than 3 hours and someone had adjusted my wallpaper and tried to mess with my settings. There is no excuse for that.
