Restaurante Puesta del Sol — Restaurant in San Juan del Sur (Municipio)

What a disappointment. This was the worst meal and service I have ever experienced in all my travels in Central America, and that's a lot. We wanted a nice sunset view and it does have that, but it's all downhill from there. We were the only guests (4) at the restaurant, so they weren't busy. The waiter took 15 minutes to greet us. We ordered ceviche and a bottle of white wine. 20 minutes later he told us they have no white wine. We ordered some other drinks and food. 20 minutes goes by and he told us they have no risotto..so again we ordered something different. An hour and a half later until our food finally arrived, he never came back to ask if we needed more drinks and when the food showed up..it was cold. I ordered a grilled fish filet, the Grande which costs extra. What I received was a filet and a half, that was smaller than my hand. It takes a lot for me to write a bad one star review, but I'd give this negative stars if I could. We are very easy to please but I've had much better meals and service at typical roadside family homes/restaurantes and for much less money. This is way overpriced and poor quality...but perhaps that's why we were the only ones there. Don't waste your time and...

Just got there, asked in spanish for the fresh juices they can make and ordered watermelon. The juice was delivered very quickly, so not fresh made. It was maybe a mix of watermelon and something like strawberry sirup. It costed 2,5 US$, which is around 78 C$ right now. Normal prices in the area are around 40-60 C$, for a fresh juice. You normally get asked if with or without sugar.

In the area you have to take care as melon relates to a kind of a cantaloupe melon. If you are expecting a red juicy watermelon, you have to ask exactly for a watermelon.

The place itself looked good, as you can see on other pictures. Sadly our experience didn’t fit to the nice...

The beach is absolutely gorgeous and a lovely place to spend the day having a beverage and something to eat at the restaurant. However the service there is awful. I sat waiting to gain the attention of the servers who completely ignored me. I got there attention and told them my order and they didn’t give it to the kitchen. It felt like it was deliberate.
