I’ve been seeing this place all over social media for months, so when I finally got to visit with my babe, I went in with high expectations. Let’s just say they didn’t disappoint.

First things first: yes, the road leading here isn’t great, but that’s hardly the bar’s fault. We’re in Lagos – some things you just have to power through for the good stuff. And this place? It’s definitely good stuff.

We started with the goat meat Nkwobi while waiting for our main order, and wow – hands down the best I’ve had in years. Juicy, spicy, with perfectly tender meat. Then came the catfish pepper soup. Even their ā€œsmallā€ ₦30,000 portion was huge – four thick cuts of fish with boiled yam that we couldn’t even finish. The flavor was everything you want in a pepper soup spicy and fresh.

Drinks were standard – Desperado and Smirnoff to keep things simple. The ambience isn’t fancy, but it has that authentic vibe where the food does all the talking.

Honestly? I’m already planning my next visit with more friends. The portions are made for sharing, the flavors are on point, and sometimes you just need to ignore the rough roads for a truly great meal. If you’ve been curious about this spot, take this as...

Honestly, I was seriously disappointed by this place. First off, I'm not sure what inspired their choice of location. Secondly, the environment wasn't particularly ideal for eating. Thirdly, the waitress that served us was unnecessarily rude. Then the food took forever to get ready (yes, they have a warning sign that their food takes long, but it took 2hrs longer than the estimated time they gave us. In addition to all this, the food itself was incredibly underwhelming. Imagine eating chicken and vegetable that tastes like they forgot to season it.

I think they should consider opening a call-to-order line so people can preorder and pay for food before arriving. I believe their food could do with better seasoning. And I think they need to do better with their environment. The bathrooms have no doors, live chickens are in the same space as customers and draw flies everywhere. These impact the...

I saw an advert about this place and decided to try it, it was one of the worst decisions I made in 2024. First a part of the place was undergoing renovation, but I don't fault them for wanting to make their bar look better. My order took over 1hr to get to me and my friends, I had to chase the waiter almost 4 times before we eventually got our orders. They are also largely understaffed as they have only 3 servers and I saw customers who had sat down for over 30mins for their drinks leave because if drinks take that long when it's just a bottle of beer or juice, how long would food take? The food was not also great either, I went there for the fish but no fish was available, I opted to try their nkwobi and peppersoup, the nkwobi was a 5/10 the peppersoup was a 2/10, the white rice was also tasteless.

The customer service is also very bad. My experience here was so bad I forgot to...

The atmosphere wasn’t so bad although the location is too far from the main road. I will say its location is perfect for people who are looking for a very good hideaway location. When I say hideaway, I am sure some of you know what I mean šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I will advice that they have a sign post to assure customers and prospective customers that they are on the right route to the place and not lost. Also don’t expect your order to come out quickly because they prepare everything fresh, except of course you have preordered.

The atmosphere was good, you have to order your fish ahead if you want to really enjoy it. Catfish pepper soup took about 2hrs to get ready. Go as a team of 3-4 or more. We created our fun with charade, sing along, karaoke and truth and lie. Pictures and customer service was a 7/10 because we ordered fried yam and the waitress said we didn’t tell her we wanted saucešŸ™„ who eats only fried yam. Few flaws but we created our own fun. āœŒšŸ¾ We roughly spent about 50k+ as a group.
