I want to take my time to review this restaurant cos woooooooowwwwww !!! First things first, I had never expected to find a restaurant this good in the street it was(no offense)… it’s like one you’d find on the island or GRA…. Had my mouth wide open for seconds cos whatttttt !!!! The place is beautiful, nicely painted and neatly spaced. I totally recommend that you go with friends so you’d have someone to take you nice photos. Okay moving on, a little while after we placed our order, we were served peanuts in a clean enamel saucer (I’m guessing to keep us busy whilst waiting for our meal) Our meal arrived in about 15 minutes, it’s the fastest any order has gotten to my table this year 😊😊😊. Our waitress was amazing, the staff there are so welcoming and I love it. The meals: This was good, and it was quite a lot for the amount we paid… I paid twice the price for something less with bland taste on the island 🥲🥲🥲🥲 The Price : The menu is quite affordable N10,000-N15,000 should cover your meal, cocktails and you should have a little change left. When we were done eating, we were offered minty flavored sweets (everyone loves a good breath after all that feasting). They didn’t have to but they did and it was quite thoughtful. The Restroom : Neat enough, 8/10 Can take 1 individual at a time, I don’t think it would be easily accessible in buzzing hours. Would I return ? If I’m in Lagos any time soon, definitely !! Do I recommend? 💯, They put in effort to satisfy customers, you won’t regret it !!!

I'd start with the parking, its a bit small but they were creative with it so its quite adequate for this area. The lovely ambience, decorations and optimization of space is a 5 out of 5. The bar seems well stocked with high chairs in front. The toilet was clean and decent. They adhered to covid restrictions by ensuring hands are washed before entry. The music was a standout point. Jazzy and mellow. Definitely what the ambience needed. The drinks were okay, I'd say a 3.5 out of 5. The milkshakes could be creamier. The Prawn Pasta was good. The Pancakes were good but could have been fluffier. The Soul Food Burger was good and creamy but some ingredients didn't feel fresh. Food and drinks were good but always room for improvement. The wait time was long, I assume its cos they are a new bar with an increasing daily clientele. The staff were very polite, helpful and took feedback really well. Ergo, for a new restaurant they show a lot of promise once they perfect their craft 👌🏽 Update: On a second visit I notice a lot of improvements. Most of the above mentioned issues have been fixed. The Prawn Pasta was good, would be great if there was more prawn in it. The Jollof Iya Daisy was great as well. I enjoyed the chicken and plantain. Took the Daisy Delight this time and it was lovely, the prominent pineapple note gave me vibes.

So I was out in Lagos and I got to meet the beautiful for a date @soulfood.lagos First thing that caught my attention was the glass ceiling. As a student of literature, seeing a place named Soul food having some sort of mirrors that 'reflect your soul', it was perfect. They had the smallest and most practical menu i had seen in a while, making it easy to decide what you want instead of reading a textbook in disguise and remaining confused. The staff was really courteous and service was fast. In fact it was one of the staff that took the photo of me and my date(first slide). Dining here was also budget friendly, no ridiculous price tag or 'charge for aesthetics'. I had the best Colada ever, only place that can rival that is @cafechrysalis in Ibadan. I over stepped my bounds by having the loaded fries(was filled with regret immediately I saw it) and spicy wings while my date had regular fries and chilly wings. I had their special fried rice to go and damn! It was good. I'll definitely be visiting @soulfood.lagos next time I'm in Yaba Lagos. Bill - 16,170 (cause I had take out that cost 5kplus) Budget - 11,000 naira would take you on a date here so budget is low/mid. #foodvlog #foodie #foodblog #foodvlogger #foodreview #foodcritic #EatWithQay
