I wish I could give 6 stars of 5 possible to Christian Gaard in Trandal.

A wise person said, "They may forget what you said - but they will never forget how you made them feel. "During our two day stay I got a firm impression that the family running the place and the whole team around them is living this value.

A place worth the journey like Christian Gaard is not only about the location and its surroundings. Both different and spectacular, located inside what many deem to be the worlds most beautiful fjord. It is also about what you feel being there. And I guess when you leave the latter one is what is most sticky. The family running the place and the team really has a “can do attitude” and a positive spin on being there to help and make you feel welcome – in a way that at least I very rarely have the good fortune to come across.

Christian Gaard in its current form is itself a place that should not have existed, was it not for the dog stubborn will of its founder- a change maker – like most places need them, but do not dare to provide the space to let them act. In defying convention, opposition and local authorities with their rules and regulation. Savour the story and bring parts of it home with you.

Today the will feed you well, quench your thirst, house you in one fashion or another, and may need be transport you by sea or land – all with a smile and enthusiasm. If the timing is right you may even enjoy one of their 3 music festivals or just a live band one evening.

Go there, explore, feel alive...

Much recommended place to visit in Norway -drive right into the Heaven Stay there a night or two and enjoy the silent evening with Sun set and birds chirping Walking trails and waterfalls ❤️

Nominal prices as Norway cities but with Scenic

Finally...

Amazing place! Almost wanted to give only one star, because you almost want this place to stay unspoiled ;-) But decided to give them the 5 stars for the 5 star experience we had. Amazing view, brilliant swing above the fjord, super nice food, unordinairy relaxed athmosphere and super friendly staff.

Loved the deer burger, salmon sandwich, Svele and Brunost cheese parfait. Enjoyed the hot tub and the cool swim in the fjord.

Place is only reachable by Ferry from Standal or Trandal (both 2-3 times a day) or boat. For us it meant staying till 16.00 and having to relax all day and enjoying a lovely lunch instead of "rushing" to another place at 8 am....
