It was pouring rain when we reached the top of Ulriken - impossible to stand outside and take pictures of Bergen below even with rain gear! Thank goodness we had a lunch reservation booked together with the gondola ride up through Fjord Tours. Other people without reservations were told they had to leave the restaurant. We got a beautiful table by the window, where we could enjoy the view without getting wet. The manager provided excellent service - he explained our beer tastings and the delicious local food, and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. (I especially loved the fish stew and the “deconstructed cheesecake” dessert!) Eventually the rain stopped and we went out for all the photos we wanted. All in all it was a wonderful experience, I highly recommend it. I only wish I could remember the manager’s name. He was very busy dealing with the guests and non-guests, but he was so professional and personable, and his English was perfect!!

This was truly a five star experience in every way possible. The food was delicious and imaginative (the best meal I had in Norway honestly- way better than some of the other ‘fine dining’ establishments I visited). The service was IMPECCABLE. I have really never experienced such authentic, warm, funny, peaceful, attentive service anywhere else. You lounge and eat at your own pace, calmly enjoying and being treated like a regent of sorts. The atmosphere… the view… the experience. I really don’t have any words for the views. Daytime was stunning and magical but the sunset was on another level. (PS they smoke their own meats on the top of the mountain too!) If you do nothing else in Bergen, in Norway, do this.

Spicy burger was sadly not spicy at all, but the sausage flavor was outstanding (if you could get past the salad and shredded cheese that inundated it). Prices are a bit high for the typical lunch menu-type items but ordering and paying via QR code made service incredibly quick and easy. Just be advised that even though there are pet watering stations outside the restaurant, dogs are NOT allowed inside but can sit out on the patio. But everyone is there for the amazing views- just bring a jacket if you plan to stay/eat later in the afternoon or evening as the wind can be chilly, even in late August.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I went with high expectations because of the beauty of the nature surroundings and the astonishing view and location, but I have to confess that the food was bad, the wine was completely off, as if the bottle had been open for very long, it felt like sipping vinegar. The staff was polite. But the service was very bad, as there wasn't enough personnel, or it felt like that, as big queues of customers were formed in the cashier's and there were many tables not cleaned up after the customers leaving so new customers were seated in tables with other peoples left overs. I hope there have been changes since the last time I was there. I rated with a 3star and not lower as I am hoping things are or will get better now as this place has so...

This was one of the best dining experiences my family has ever had. We were initially skeptical of the restaurant because we thought the views would be more interesting than the food, but boy oh boy were we wrong. We had no idea what the menu would be and it was incredibly pleasant to be surprised and impressed by each course and it's presentation. The chef was completely accomodating of the fact that my mother is a vegan and she said it was the best meal she had our whole trip. The only thing I could possibly recommend more the food here are the cocktails- I will forever regret not ordering more, as they were the best I've ever had! Great food, great views, great drinks. I'm excited for my next trip to Bergen so I...
