The End of the World Eatery — Restaurant in Færder

This was a very nice restaurant indeed. I booked a few days ahead by messenger and got exactly the table I wanted. There is ample parking about a 200m walk from the door, but if someone had trouble walking they allow driving to the door by appointment. This is the tip of Tjome looking out into the ocean so there'll nearly always be wind, so while it is possible to sit outside on a large terrace, you should be prepared for weather or stay indoors. The building is shared with a state park centre and has great toilets, but the restaurant itself is in its own large room with large windows and a view that is hard to beat. But the restaurant which is managed by lovely people doesn't rely on only the view to carry the bag, they have really great great food. A small seasonal menu with high quality. The most surprising thing to top it off is that it's also very reasonably priced. Normal norwegian restaurant rates, but higher quality than you'd expect in the city for this money. Vi hadde bestilt bord, ble satt bakerst i lokalet der det var veldig mørkt og ingen utsikt. Kom ganske langveis fra, og kunne godt blitt informert om dette da vi bestilte, da utsikten er det vi kommer for. Anyway, the customer is always right and after such a mistake we should have had a real regret, they should lie down and ask what they could do for us. Instead, I had to beg for something to eat on the way home not to starve, and at least got some foccacia in a box ..

It seems sad that one of probably one of the world's finest restaurants cannot achieve higher...
