Best adventure with kids: train ride to the last stop, long hike, and a treat at the end! Beautiful scenery, lake, benches, picnic tables. Amazing food, soups, sandwiches, buns - everything is homemade and so yummy.

What a place! Short walk (3km) from the last stop at Frognerseteren (line1) which is already a nice walk. Then you arrive to this Tryvannstua... I would recommend their Goulash.... fantastic!

Tryvannstua er et lett tilgjengelig turmål i Nordmarka. T-baneturen til Frognerseteren stasjon er en opplevelse i seg selv, med fin utsikt over Oslo og marka etterhvert som banen snirkler seg oppover. Herfra går det fine og tørre turveier ned til tryvannstua. Også mulig å finne alternative stier. Om vinteren mange løypealternativer. Tryvannstua serverer god mat i hyggelige omgivelser. Vær forberedt på at det er mange mennesker i godværshelger. Ideelt for en kort tur og for småbarnsfamilier.

Cosy place. Make sure that you are sitting in the older part of the building. It's the location that makes it good, close to the slopes in the winter, nice stop for waffles and coffee/hot chocolate after a walk in the forrest. The guys who run Tryvannstua treat it like a fast food restaurant. Don't expect too much...

At Tryvannstua you can visit one of Oslo's special "Markastuer" cafés that are only accessible on skis in winter. The great thing about Tryvannstua is that it is accessible also from the alpine skiing resort of Tryvann. Great pastry and...

An allright place, but owner seems to have issues. Started talking very rudely to us, because one person that had allergies brought somthing own to drink. Really didn't behave well. Even felt threatening...
