Ullevålseter is a lush oasis just a short hike from the outskirts of Oslo. It is closed on Mondays and on some major Norwegian holidays.

Ullevålseter offer a simple food and drink service as well as free tap water, which is handy for refilling water bottles while out hiking.

From Ullevålseter there are several paths to take back to the town. If the weather is nice and you like nature, a trip up here is well...

Legend has it, "when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it" - Paulo Coelho. The need for a cup of coffee on an early cold Sunday morning made me walk 6km from Sognsvann to Ullevålseter as Sognsvann's shop was not open. I'd be honest, didn't like the coffee but the remarkable panoramic experience was all I take back...

Ullevalseter is one of the best stops during skiing. They serve warm soups, pastries, drinks and snacks. It’s a great place to take a break, sit by a table and enjoy some food. It has a great atmosphere. There are also toilets that can be useful, although they are a bit hidden behind the building. Love this place, and will be back often

Classic Norwegian “mountain” cabin. But it’s nice to have a place for refreshment while out in the nature 👍. We had coffee and some pastry, pretty tasty. It’s very popular place during winter (especially for cross-country skiing), but also pretty big inside.
