The Shack — Restaurant in Stavanger

My son and I have eaten here several times. We both love their ribs dinner. We both substitute the fries; he gets sweet potato fries instead, and I get the cheese fries. They are very tasty. The ribs have plenty of meat on them and are cooked to perfection. They fall off the bone when you cut them and tastes delicious. It also comes with a small chunk of corn on the cob, which is very tasty. The coleslaw even tastes better than any other I've tasted. They don't just use mayonnaise. I want the recipe for that sauce! . It's been 3 years since I wrote that, so I decided to update it. Tonight we bought hamburgers. My son got the BNC, since they no longer sell the Mr BBQ that he used to like, and said it was ok, but it wasn't anything spectacular. In other words, he would rather stick with the burger he usually gets from our favorite deli. . I was not impressed with the Mr Explosion that I had tonight. First, I asked for it to be cooked medium. That's supposed to be pink in the middle. Do they read the special instructions on their online orders? Why does it bother to ask? Mine was cooked so well done, it was cardboard dry. And the 3 small chunks of bacon were so overdone that 2 were on the verge of blackness and the third was black. . Then I checked the prices at my favorite competitor and found that they now have a huge selection of burgers and for less than the price of one Shack burger, I could've gotten a full meal and even upgraded it to a medium sized meal, with hamburger, French Fries, and soft drink. I think the burgers at The Shack are great and the French fries is excellent. There are a few tables at the place but it is more meant to be a takeaway place. I think it would have been better if there was an option to also sit down in a cozy environment to have the burger but I guess that is not the concept. Really good burgers, with good ingredients and good ingredients conbinations. Contributing to calling these burgers 'gourmet'.
