I have booked this cabin accommodation based on description on the Live Lofoten fisherman's cabins website. There were very nice pictures with sea view and nice descriptions. There were not a word about cabins, that are between the main road and fishing wear houses. ||When we arrived to pick up the key for the cabin, the personnel could explain properly the location of our cabin. Took us a while to find it.||I was shocked when I saw the cabin. This kind of scam I did not have anywhere in the world. Instead of sew view we were looking at the busy street, window half in the basement, and other one facing to the fishing wear house. Not exactly I was looking for in Lofoten.||I did send the complaint as we arrived, but didn't get any answer until I have send the second email. The manager of the place offed us to leave and get a refund, when it was already almost 18 o'clock in the evening. We have kids with us and no other accommodation planned, so I didn't see how it would be possible to find accommodation in the busy season so late in the evening. I told that I would review this accommodation to what manager said I'm black mailing him. I think it is only fare to let other travelers know what to expect, if the accommodations information on their website and other booking platforms is not correct.||So we had to stay in this accommodationa s we didn't have any other place to go and we didn't get a refund as manger kept saying we have booked this cabin with street view. There was not any information on any other sites about cabins with...
Read moreThe best thing about this place was the food - the dinner was fantastic, and the breakfast was seriously impressive !||||The main building is a great place - from the sitting room / bar area on the left, to the eating area on the middle, and the separate dining room on the right. I happily spent a couple of hours in here people watching and using the good quality wifi.||||We were lucky to have an Rorbus right on the waterfront, but the next row back is at a slightly higher level, so they too should have a view out over the harbour.||||The Rorbus itself looked fairly recent, but tastefully furnished, with one bedroom downstairs (with bunkbeds), and two upstairs (one with three beds and one with two). There was a comfortable sitting room/ dining room, with a small kitchenette (not that was really used it). The bunkbeds were very comfortable, and robust enough not to move around.||||The bathroom was fairly basic, but perfectly adequate. The water pressure was fine, with soap/shower gel in a dispenser.||||An excellent choice...
Read moreWe stayed in several different places during our stay in Lofoten, and this place was by far our least favorite. The cabin was what they call "Landbu", which means that it is behind another row of cabins which are closer to the water. These ones that direcly overlook the water are called "Sjøbu". It was possible to see the water from our cabin, but the windows seemed so small. The cabin was dark and poorly lit. The beds were VERY hard and the bathroom is in need of major renovation...we didn't want to touch the shower curtain. Our cabin had 3 bedrooms. A single bed on the first floor and 2 double beds on the second floor. The cabin also had a kitchenette (stove, but no oven), a living area and dining table. ||We did not find Stamsund to be that charming of a town.||However, we do have to say that we got some helpful advice from the reception on other places to visit in Lofoten. In addition, there was a restaurant/pub that looked quite cozy and overlooked the water. We regret not having gone there during our one...
