The one place I genuinely loved, that I will probably not visit again anytime soon... but not for the reasons you think. This cafè is simply put a telltale adventure! From the heroic drive you need to take on literally the edge of a rocky mountain. Where one side is a freefall drop to oblivion, and the other side is a landslide wall. The harsh road, or lack of a road rather, makes you actually question if you are headed in the right direction! Seriously, it truly is a thrilling mystery. The only giveaway that you're headed in the right direction is the fact that Google Maps recognizes where you are, and where need to go. In addition to that fact is, you do see a car every now and then that you have to let squeeze beside you. Then you reach to the end of the road, and find a stonehouse with a signboard that reads "Anat", but that's where the next leg of your trip actually begins. Fair warning, I actually somewhat knew beforehand that there was going to be some trekking/hiking involved, but this particular path can be deemed as quite extreme by many visitors. You have to descend all the way down on what feels like a million uneven painful steps. Followed by an incline to get to where the cafè actually is by, yet again, climbing more steps. But my oh my, once you get there, you are in absolute awe of just how breathtaking the place is. I mean, you may also actually be out of breath, but the place is breathtaking in its own right, I promise you! The cafè, and the lodge/inn it shares its entrance with, is all part of a large spectacular mountain. You are shaded by the natural surrounding rocks, you have a small hint of civilization that work, live, or just, like myself, tour the place, and everything else is naturally untouched. The pictures I took really do speak for themselves. The staff? Local, friendly, and amazing! I believe it is a family business, run by the family, but I am only guessing here. The drinks we chose were amazing, but I tried the Sunset Iced Tea, and literally had two of those. I still want more! The seating? Definitely not equipped to handle a very large group of people, but where there's a will, there's a way I suppose. Additionally, some of the seats are not the pinnacle of comfort, but after the fatigue of the hike, you will sit "comfortably". In conclusion. This place truly is a hidden gem that NEEDS to be experienced at least once in your lifetime if you are in Oman. It is remarkable how this establishment just naturally exists, and fits so perfectly with its natural surrounding. With that said, this place will put your athleticism, stamina, and endurance to the ultimate test. You really do need to bear in mind that it isn't just the effort you need to make to the cafè, but also the way back once you are done! This place was a good reminder, and incentive that we need to push ourselves harder at the gym. All so we can go again, and revisit the magic that is Anat Café.

This one’s outrightly one of the best cafés I have ever been to! As an experience, it just beats everything else you may have experienced till date. Firstly, it’s set in a valley on the side of a mountain range and literally in the middle of nowhere. All around you will be just ancient mountains with breathtaking views. It’s very difficult to find inhabitants there except for the small ancient village of suwgra who run the inn and this cafe on the other side of the mountain. That brings me to the second interesting fact that the route to this cafe is astounding and challenging for that adventurous soul. It tests your driving skills coz you ought to be on a 4 wheel drive along some off road tracks. Thats the first half of the journey. The second half is actually hiking down a good flight of stairs to cross the cliff and reach the cafe and inn. So you burn your calories and earn your calories both the ways Lastly but importantly, it’s run by the families living in the village across the mountain, and as I am already experiencing the Omani hospitality, they just welcome you with a warm smile and stories to share with great service however busy they may be. Will surely wanna come back to stay here.
