Al Tanoor offers a unique dining experience with its enticing Middle Eastern cuisine, but it falls short in a few key areas, particularly when it comes to pricing and service.
Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, with beautifully designed interiors that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. The lighting is soft, creating a cozy environment perfect for both intimate dinners and gatherings with friends.
Food: The menu features a variety of traditional dishes, and while the flavors are rich and authentic, the portion sizes can be surprisingly small for the price. Dishes like the lamb kebabs and the mezze platter are undoubtedly delicious, showcasing fresh ingredients and skilled preparation. However, many items feel overpriced, especially considering similar offerings at other local establishments that provide better value.
Service: While the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the service can be hit or miss. During our visit, we experienced long wait times for both our food and the check, which was disappointing given the high price point. The staff seemed overwhelmed, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
Value: Ultimately, the steep prices OMR. 30 per peraon, at Al Tanoor do not seem to justify the level of service and portion sizes provided. Diners looking for a memorable meal might find better options elsewhere that offer a more balanced experience in terms of cost, service, and food quality.
In conclusion, Al Tanoor has the potential to be a fantastic dining destination, but improvements in service efficiency and a reevaluation of their pricing structure could elevate it to a higher standard. While it’s worth a visit for the unique flavors, be prepared for a hefty bill that may not entirely match...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Al Tanoor Shangri-La, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The food was outstanding, with a wide variety of options that changed daily, offering themed nights like the International Buffet, Desi Night, and Lebanese Night, complete with a light music band adding to the ambiance. The quality of the dishes was top-notch, and each night offered something new to look forward to.
What truly stood out was the impeccable service. The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. Their attention to detail made the experience even more memorable. A special shout-out to Sanjay, who went above and beyond to customize the pasta at the pasta station to our exact preferences (and spoiling us with some yummy gelato)!
I found myself returning to Al Tanoor for dinner every night during my stay, and I can confidently say it was one of the highlights of my trip. I would love to visit again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience with exceptional food...
Read moreLarge variety of dishes were available at dinner buffet. Amazingly arranged the serving areas and live stations. Really loved the dessert corner. The buffet was a combination of different cuisines such as Arabic, Italy, Indian and Middle East Countries. After having dinner, we just walked around the resort to see the beautiful views. Really nice and charming views you can see at night. The staff decorated the resort for Christmas and it added full glamour to the resort.
The thing I observed, when we were dining we ordered a white wine glass and they recommended the brand available. 10minutes later, they said the recommended brand is over. If they recommend they should be aware about the stocks they have. Since, it was not much crowded , the staff should be more careful about the services they provide. This is not a complaint but they should improve such small things in their resort.
Overall, happy with the dinning experience at Al Tanoor, Barr Al Jissah Shangri -La. It was one of my dream to vist and dine...
