Dosteen Restaurant — Restaurant in Muscat Governorate

Dosteen is an understated gem. For lovers of Pakistani cuisine, it's a must-go restaurant in Muscat.

We had karai mutton, karai chicken, haleem, mutton and chicken seekh kebabs and channa dhaal.

The Karais were impeccable, a rich sauce with touches of ginger and coriander. The meat was well cooked and tender. The seekh kebabs were probably the best we've tasted outside Pakistan itself; well flavoured and juicy with a warm smokey flavour. The haleem was rich, creamy with just the right amount of spices. The channa dhaal was just wonderful, smooth flavoured with a wonderful garlic and onion tarka.

The service was great, with our waiter giving us great attention and never letting anything run out. Our meal was accompanied by raitha, green salad and spiced onions which were on the house.

Although the surroundings are rather lack lustre and bare, the food more than makes up for the ambience. The prices are very reasonable and in terms of value for money this is probably one of the best restaurants around.

This is my favourite restaurant everrrrrr. We have been going there since before my birth. The Kadai Gosht is my favourite dish there and is incomparable to any other place. Succulent meat in tomato based semi gravy. Also I had Gujarat vegetarian friends visiting this place to have the Chana masala which quite good too. The tandoori roti is also given hot and complements the gravies very well. The Kadai gosht is on the oilier side and may be off putting to some people. One of the best destination for a tasty pakistani style food around this area. Best customer services by their staffs. Very neat and clean ambience. Very large hall. Family hall is also large and well maintained. Best place for family or to visit a group of members. Noon time all Pakistani style curry, kadai fry items with tandoori roti and rice varieties.
