Copper Restaurant

Copper restaurant was one of the first restaurants to open at the new Qurum complex next to the PDO, dominating a corner space with a rounded stairway leading to a central opening. It is one of the largest restaurants in the area presenting a roadhouse type theme with custom motorcycles decorating internal spaces.

From the outside Copper is located in Qurum next to the PDO, at the 2nd traffic lights from the Qurum roundabout, do a u turn and come back on yourself, at this point you will see many restaurants and coffee houses. To the left you have Mezza on the left and Italian barista on the right, located within the Qurum Oasis building.

Menu The menu is international based with dishes from the Americas to Asia including some classic dishes like Fish and Chips. You can find healthy eating options, specials, salads, burgers, steaks, fish backed up by a good range of drinks to suit most palates.

The menu is given using a tablet device which is great as you can see images of the food you want to eat.

Prices They are pretty competitive for the area and are in good comparison the dish sizes.

Food The food is served fresh within expected time frames for serving fresh food so wait and be patient to receive freshly prepared food!! We ordered the classic fish and chips with a thai chicken salad and an orange juice. The food arrived at the same time which is a very important factor not many places get right in muscat. Nice and piping hot presented very nicely with lovely colours and placement of ingredients.

The fish and chips were delicious with a nice piece of fish deep fried in a thick layer of batter, nice a crunchy served with sweet potato chips and a very fresh and tasty side salad. Presentation of the fish and chips get 10/10 and the addition of sweet potato chips instead of normal potatoes was great.

The Thai Chicken salad was also presented well, in a nice deep bowl with plenty of cilantro to give it a really fresh taste.

Drinks We enjoyed the orange juice which was consistent with what other restaurants were serving, orangy!

Customer Service Staff are really friendly and professional with good courtesy of asking if your ready and giving you time to choose your menu items with peace and tranquility without any pushy service. From entering to leaving you feel you have been looked after and the staff appreciate your visit with a smile.

Recommendations Fully recommended and good for lunchtime especially for the people that work in the area. Enjoy something different every day with a full menu and drinks to take away. My only recommendation is to connect the tablet devices with your respective table number so you can order food and drinks directly from the tablet you are given, that would be the icing on cake! I've visited three times, and each occasion had been a treat. I loved the ribeye steak (one of the best I've had in Muscat and great value), thick good quality meat that was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The lamb chops were also very good. The crispy prawn salad was good, but the prawns (not sure if they were Omani or Indian or a frozen import) could be sweeter. The sweet potato fries were brilliant - sweet and crispy. The chilli fries were very good but could be too spicy for some. It's a popular place, and can be very lively. If you are only interested in the food and want to focus on your eating, visit during off peak hours. Appalling service. Main course took 1 hour and 10 minutes to arrive. One of the main dishes was not what we ordered, causing us to cancel it because it was too late to wait another hour for the right dish. The soup we ordered as an appetizer came 20 mins after the mains, right when we finished the main courses. And after showing our frustration, they got us an extra soup complimentary, which we didn't eat considering it is an appetizer and it had been 15 mins since we finished the mains. The mains were alright, but the experience as a whole was completely negative.
