A Solid Mutton Karahi and a Good Time at Geo Shinwari My friends, office colleagues, and I recently visited Geo Shinwari Restaurant on the highway, and we had a very enjoyable experience. Overall, it's a great spot for a casual get-together and offers a good balance of tasty food, solid service, and a nice atmosphere. The food, in particular the Mutton Karahi, was a definite highlight. It was exactly what we were looking for—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The meat was tender, and the spices were balanced just right, making it a very satisfying dish. While the karahi was excellent and deserves high praise, the rest of the menu items we ordered were good, though perhaps not quite as memorable. It’s a place you go for the signature dishes, and they certainly deliver on that front. The service was prompt and courteous. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they made sure our needs were met throughout the evening. Our orders came out in a timely manner, and they were quick to respond to our requests for extra bread and drinks. It felt like a well-oiled machine, and we appreciated the efficiency, especially with our large group. The ambience was another pleasant surprise. We particularly enjoyed sitting out in the open air traditional sitting area. it was a unique and comfortable setting that added to the overall experience. The open-air feel combined with the simple, rustic decor created a very relaxed and inviting environment. It’s a great place to sit back, chat with friends, and enjoy the evening. It's not a fancy or high-end dining experience, but for what it is—a traditional, highway-side eatery—the atmosphere is perfect. In summary, Geo Shinwari is a solid choice for a get-together with friends or colleagues. The Mutton Karahi is a must-try and the service is reliable. While not every dish was a showstopper, the overall experience was very positive, and we left feeling full and happy. It earns a well-deserved four stars from me, and I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a great karahi and a relaxed dining experience on...
Read moreAbout Location: It's hardly 10 mins drive from Sohrab Goth. Comes before Bakra Mandi bridge at the left side if you are traveling from sohrab goth towards Hyderabad. Ppl coming from Abu ul Hassan Isphahani Road will most likely end up taking U turn from Water pump if Sohrab Goth's bridge is missed due to traffic congestion; so make your commute accordingly.
About Place: Nice and clean ambience with a courteous staff. Huge open sitting space is available within the boundary wall. Some covered areas are also available. No reservations required. But you can expect crowd in saturdays as we visited during the peak hours on Saturday. Security arrangements are good. Family section is separetly demarcated.
About Food: Took more than an hour to serve their signature Shinwari Karhai in mutton. It was just OK not a must try kind of a dish. Also ordered Brain Masala and Kat a Kat; which were too OK. Afghani Boti they serve as starter - around 3 to 4 botis in one seekh; was OK don't compare them with the real afghani boti if you ever had! Paratha is something we totally disliked. But roghani naan were good. I even brought 3 at home :) No idea about other dishes. Green tea comes with Gur in an ordinary quality.
Recommended for OK food and casual gatherings. Not for healthy food seakers due to...
Read moreAverage Taste, but Shocking Hygiene Issues (Cats Eating from Plates + Video Proof)
I recently dined at Geo Shiwari Restaurant and left deeply disappointed by the unhygienic conditions. While the food was tasty and the ambiance decent, the experience was ruined by multiple cats roaming freely—even eating directly from dinner plates in front of staff and customers! (I’ve uploaded a video as proof.)
When we complained, the waiter helplessly said, "What can we do? There are too many cats." The manager avoided us, and a supervisor later admitted they "try to remove the cats but fail." No corrective action was taken.
Serious concerns:
Cross-contamination risk: If cats eat from plates, are they reused without proper sterilization?
Kitchen hygiene: Are cats accessing uncooked food in storage/prep areas because Infront of the customer eating and staff ignoring?
Staff negligence: Ignoring such a glaring issue is unacceptable for a high-priced restaurant.
Until management enforces strict hygiene measures, I cannot recommend this place. Check the video evidence before...
