As a loyal customer, this being my fourth visit to Hyderabad Darbar, I feel obligated to share my recent experience, which was unfortunately far from satisfactory. I hope this detailed feedback serves as constructive criticism, encouraging the management to address these significant issues.

Critical Areas Needing Immediate Attention:

Indoor Climate Control – Unbearably Inadequate: Despite the indoor area being air-conditioned, the cooling was grossly insufficient. With only two 1.5-ton split AC units struggling to cool the entire hall, the environment was uncomfortable, even on a cloudy day following rain. The hall wasn’t hot, but it certainly wasn’t cool or comfortable either. The noisy fans only circulated warm air, adding to the discomfort. Given the high temperatures in Larkana, especially during summer, this issue severely detracts from the dining experience.

Unprofessional Maintenance – Exposed Wiring Everywhere: The indoor hall had loose wiring near almost every table, which looks unprofessional. It was clear that the restaurant originally intended to install wall-mounted fans but left the wiring exposed when they opted for pedestal fans instead. Such oversight is unacceptable in any setting, let alone in a restaurant where customers expect a safe and well-maintained environment.

Severe Hygiene Issues – Unclean Utensils and Pest Problems: The cleanliness standards were shockingly low, failing to meet even basic expectations of cleanliness. The plates & crockery appeared to have been inadequately washed, further eroding confidence in the restaurant’s hygiene practices. When the hand wash liquid in the handwash area is watery, it raises serious concerns about the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the establishment. Most alarmingly, flies were constantly buzzing around our food, making the meal feel unhygienic and extremely uncomfortable. To add to this, a lizard was spotted on the wall, dangerously close to our dining table. This was beyond unacceptable, causing immediate doubt about the overall food hygiene and safety standards of the restaurant.

Unacceptable Service – Indifference and Lack of Professionalism: The service was far from satisfactory. When I brought the issue of the flies to the attention of the waiter, his response was dismissive, showing no concern or initiative to rectify the problem. This indifferent attitude only compounds the discomfort caused by the other issues. Additionally, the strict enforcement of a policy against outside water bottles, especially one intended for my baby, was both unnecessary and offensive. While I understand the desire to promote in-house sales, this could have been handled with much more understanding and professionalism.

Positive Aspects:

Outdoor Ambiance: The outdoor seating area is well-maintained and offers a pleasant dining environment, especially during cooler weather. The ambiance is peaceful and makes for a beautiful dining experience.

Quality of Food: Despite the significant shortcomings in other areas, the food remains a strong point. We ordered Chicken Mandi, Bar B Q Platter, and Chicken Peshawri Karahi, all of which were flavorful and enjoyable. The Karahi was particularly noteworthy. The food quality, while not exceptional, is good enough to be enjoyed.

Conclusion:

The issues highlighted above are not minor inconveniences but significant lapses that severely impacted our dining experience. Customers do not pay for an environment that is uncomfortable, unhygienic, and poorly maintained. When basic hygiene is compromised, it naturally raises doubts about the safety and cleanliness of the food served. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Addressing these issues is crucial not only for customer satisfaction but also for maintaining the reputation of the restaurant.

Tender morsels of marinated meat, kissed by the tandoor’s flames. As I savored them, I engaged in conversations with fellow diners. The communal spirit, the laughter—it felt like home. Service with a Smile: The staff, attentive and courteous, made me feel like royalty. Their recommendations were spot-on, guiding me toward lesser-known delights. Special shout-out to Mr. Waqas Shah, the general manager, whose warmth and professionalism left an impression. Sweet Endings: Dessert arrived like a sweet epilogue. The Qubani ka Meetha, apricots soaked in sugar syrup, danced on my tongue. And the Double-ka-Meetha, a bread pudding fit for celebrations, sealed the deal. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance, atmosphere, and the restaurant's open view immediately captivated me. The beautiful decorations and flowers were a feast for the eyes. Later, when we ordered the Chicken Peshawari and Malai Boti, I found myself let down by the Chicken Peshawari—it fell short of its name and wasn't even remotely what I had hoped for. On the other hand, the Chicken Malai Boti did meet expectations, though it wasn't as exceptional as I had anticipated. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance, atmosphere, and the restaurant's open view immediately captivated me. The beautiful decorations and flowers were a feast for the eyes. Later, when we ordered the Chicken Peshawari and Malai Boti, I found myself let down by the Chicken Peshawari—it fell short of its name and wasn't even remotely what I had hoped for. On the other hand, the Chicken Malai Boti did meet expectations, though it wasn't as exceptional as I had anticipated.
