Khyber Shinwari 1Tikka Peshawar — Restaurant in Peshawar City Tehsil

Had the pleasure of visiting Raees Khan Khyber Shinwari Tikka, located at the end of Shakeel Plaza on the right side. Previously there were three owners who have now split and are doing business side by side of Shinwari Tikkas. All are equally good and tasty.

Also by chance had a friendly chat with the owner. Very typical Pakhtun, courteous, hospitable and complementary. The staff were very polite and humble as well. Tikkas were soft, tender, and falling apart in hands.

Pro's: Taste of original meat, without any masala, sauce etc cooked in its own fat and salt. plenty of space for sitting and having meals. humble and polite staff. comfortable and decent environment. Barbecue and Karahi are made on coal with very light heat to retain maximum moisture and tenderness. one separate family room to accommodate a large size family. 3 washrooms. Naans are soft and fresh. Peshawari Kehwa is a big plus served with lemon wedges and Gurr.

Cons: parking is a big problem especially during peak hours. The wait time is almost an hour. But obviously that's expected when ordering Lamb Tikkas. wheelchair bound cannot visit...

We did a takeout. Food was really good, even though the restaurant made a mistake in our order. Instead of Beef Kabuli Pulao they gave us Chicken Kabuli Pulao.

I had a good chat with the owner. Nice and friendly person. Good staff as well.

Wait time is over 1 hour. But that's expected when ordering Lamb Tikkas. Tikkas were soft, tender, and falling apart in hands. It seems they use gas instead of the traditional coal for Tikkas though. But I'm not certain. I'm going by the lack of carbon char on the Tikkas.

Naan was really good, unlike other places these days in Peshawar, it was plain, simple...

It is one of the authentic Shinwari Mutton Tikka hotel. They serve both on Skewers and in wok called Karahi. Yes when you order mutton dishes be prepared to wait between 45-55 minutes but the good thing is you can order ahead. They do serve chicken as well.
