I recently had the pleasure of dining at Monal Restaurant Peshawar, and I can confidently say it was an absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish.

👨‍🍳 Food: 10/10 – Absolutely Stunning The cuisine was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From traditional Pakistani specialties to their unique grilled options and continental dishes — each bite was a perfect blend of taste, texture, and aroma. The ingredients tasted fresh, the seasoning was precise, and the portion sizes were generous. Whether it was the creamy handi, everything was cooked to perfection. The desserts were a dream — especially the molten lava cake and kheer. I would gladly rate the food a solid 10 out of 10!

Chicken Makhni

This dish was a total standout. The chicken was extremely tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. The makhni (butter) gravy was rich, creamy, and packed with deep, traditional flavor — with just the right amount of spice to keep it flavorful but smooth. The butteriness didn’t overpower the dish — instead, it enhanced it. Served with fresh naan, this was a truly satisfying experience and worth every rupee.

As this place is extremely popular, we had to reserve a table for the number of people and time beforehand. We were a group of 11 and a child. We decided to order a la carte At the start, after giving our order it took a while to get food. However, once the admin was informed that we had patients who took insulin and needed to be served food right away, they served salads, soup, naan, cheese naan right away followed by our drinks. Food arrived in two trips and it was served hot and was very presentable.

The beef steak was good. Chicken Mushroom steak looked good but the sauce was not tasty. Veggies needed a bit more time, as these were tough. Burgers were great, fries and sauce went well with these. Fish and Chips was tasty but compared to the steak serving, it was lacking in terms of serving size of the fish. Beef Chili was tasty. We ordered three platters: Chinese, Italian and Thai. The variety of these was good value for money. Thai and Chinese platters were really good but the Italian one disappointed and only it's Fettuccine was good, the rest tasted and felt stale. As for the drinks, the best was the Mint margaritas. Pina Colada did not taste like Pineapple nor did the Pineapple juice. Peach juice was okay as well. There was a cold drink with each platter.

We opted for brownie and gulan jaman as our platter dessert options and gulan jaman were much better than the brownie that was swimming in chocolate sauce. The Kulfi was delicious but the falooda in it was a bit too thick and doughy.

The place is beautiful, the ambience is just right, the setup is tasteful with a modern feel, and the vibes we got as a dinner guest were excellent. We enjoyed our time there, the service was excellent, the waiters were caring and provided great service and the floor manager visited our table often as well.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience. We had opted for their lesser popular dishes as we did not want to have their usuals, due to it that close to Eid UL Adha. Thank you Monal for a great dinner, yet again, but this time in Peshawar.
