Worst service , worst food. I went to jade cafe on weekend. It was really busy so we waited for 35 mints to get a seat. Once we got the table, nobody came to take our order for the next 15-20mints. I ordered an appetizer and 2 stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes(I specifically asked for that). The appetiser was served after 45mints and then the whole order after literally asking them for the fourth time. Everytime i asked them about the order they said “maam just 10 mints” and then they keep us waiting forever. It doesnt end here, I ordered crispy stuffed chicken without the mashed potatoes but it wasnt crispy anymore because the the crust came off during frying and they fried the chicken and it tasted like fried chicken but it was so hard to chew. When i asked About the mashed potatoes they went to ask the waiter and never came back, then i called them again upon whoch they said “the waiter who took your order went to the kitchen”. Are uou serious lol. They served me the mashed potatoes eventually and the manager came to apologise and we accepted it but he insisted us on getting drinks from their side as a compensation to which we denied multiple times because we didnt want our money back we were just complaining and giving them reviews about how bad their service was. Khair eventually we agreed because he was insisting badly.Appetiser was cold when served too. When the bill came it was inclusive of the drinks (again it was a petty tactic to make us think that they are sorry) i paid and then asked the waiter to which he acted like he didnt know anything although he was with the manager back then. I told them i ll be writing a review and left the cafe. Then the cashier ran towards me and asked me to give him the receipt so that he can compensate what went wrong by saying “the boy put the drinks punched the drinks by mistake”. I walked out anyways. Pathetic customer service and too many “mistakes”...
Read moreThis review is based on two separate visits, two years apart - 2021 and 2022.
The good: the location is nice especially for folks living in Valencia / South Lahore area, the lighting and venue is clean and generally looks good
The bad: (1) the service is bad. By bad I don’t mean rude, I mean borderline non existent, unsanitary and unprofessional 12 active tables and 4 servers, and it took 30 minutes after multiple “get up and go beg someone to take our order”. Getting food to your table requires you harassing the serve staff. servers themselves stock and unstick tables in a lackluster, unsanitary fashion (eg touching surfaces food would touch). This is not the servers fault - this is the fault of the management who have not invested in training and hiring appropriate staff. (2) the servers are not trained, barely know how to be a server in a supposed upscale restaurant, don’t even look like the poor souls showered that day. (3) more than half the menu is purely fictional. This in my opinion is the worst offense “we don’t have beef” “we are out of hot pot” “we don’t have drumsticks” At this point you are basically a generic Chinese place masquerading as Chinatown, a blemish on a proud history of Chinese Pakistani cuisine. (4) for all this, the food is nothing to write home about. Slightly better than take out Chinese at your local jaunt.
Unless you are a hostage to the location, I would avoid this place. For a city and country that prides itself on food, this is an embarrassment and I hope it closes down and give up the space to a more deserving restaurant, since over two years management has shown no interest in any improvement whatsoever. If this is a Chinatown franchisee, I hope the franchise owner sees this review and visits this place to understand how their brand is being dragged through the mud by the idiots...
Read moreI have never NEVER been to a restaurant where I was disrespected right at the door before my family and I were even seated. And despite that, I let it slide just so we could enjoy our meal and have a good time together. But no, the disappointment didn’t stop there.
When we got to our table, there was broken glass on it,an obvious hazard. The waiter casually mentioned that a child had broken it, but to my amazement, they did nothing to clean it up or even offer to move us to a different table.
Now, let’s talk about the food, which was supposed to be the silver lining of the experience. Instead, we were served cold food, and on top of that, they tried to give us stale and completely different dishes than what we had actually ordered. When I called the manager over to address the issue, instead of taking responsibility, he tried to gaslight me into thinking everything was fine and that this is what I had ordered. When I called him out on it, he continued to disrespect me in front of my family and the entire restaurant.
THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT,not that I was even asking for special treatment. All I wanted was a simple acknowledgment that they had messed up, along with an attempt to fix the experience for me and my family. Instead, both the general manager and operational manager became verbally abusive and aggressive, which was my cue to leave the establishment.
On top of all this, we had to constantly ask for silverware, cutlery, and napkins, basic necessities. It felt like we had to do their job for them instead of simply enjoying our meal as paying customers.
My personal two cents: do not waste your hard-earned money at this establishment. Just like me, you’ll end up paying for nothing but soda cans,...
