Once, a long long time ago, in the 80s, I dreamt of experiencing this place, we would drive by to the local cheap Don Lee and I would long for real Chinese food. 40 years later I'm visiting this incredible city and I can afford Lung Fung Palace, the prices are through the roof. We ordered a few dishes and we tasted it... The prefabricated "maybe" fish balls in szechuan sauce had that distinct taste of... McCormick Chili powder, I understand, the szechuan province is far far away. The lemon "maybe" chicken had a passable KFC crunch, never thought fried in Panama could fail. The canned sweet and sour pork was... warmed up nicely in the microwave. One dish was OK, Pak Choi shrimp, it could be eaten. The Dim Sum wasn't available so we couldn't try it. Authentic Cantonese they say? Maybe they never been to the amazing Hong Kong.

I have found the food to be consistently good throughout my almost forty years of being a customer. The dimsum is the main selling point. It is on par with the best dimsum restaurants I have been to in New York City. This place is historic for having been one of the most significant attractions in the city.

I have to give credit for this place having been the largest and most popular Chinese restaurant for decades. A palace indeed. My childhood was spent here either eating dimsum on the second floor or attending special events on the third. Service has always been organized and fast. A well-trained staff.
