Lupita Lodge — Restaurant in Cusipata

We can highly recommend stopping at the beautiful Lupita Vinicunca Lodge!|We had breakfast and lunch there on the way and return towards Waqra Pucara and Palcoyo. The location is well located to take a break on the way to and from these destinations. It is very modern and clean and we were welcomed warmly by Luís and his family. The food (several delicious courses made with fruits and vegetables from their own green house!) and service were excellent and in fluent English. As a treat we even got to feed the cute Lamas in front of the Lodge. I was hoping to eat here after visiting Rainbow Mountain, based on all of the good reviews I had read. We had driven ourselves to the mountain and time got away from us. We ended up arriving at the restaurant just as they should have been closing up, but they were so kind and welcoming and fed us a very delicious meal! Such a wonderful family business- a beautiful, clean, comfortable building with a beautiful view of the surrounding natural beauty. The owner was so nice and friendly! They will be opening rooms to stay in the next year he said, and if we ever return to the area we would definitely stay here! In the meantime, I highly recommend eating here. Lupita Lodge has a perfect location on the way to the Rainbow Mountain. We reached there quite early in the morning but they served us a hot breakfast with coffee, juice, and egg sandwiches right away. The place is very clean, quite spacious with good bathroom facilities and has a beautiful location by the river -- not to mention alpacas roaming around. We also stopped by for lunch on the way back. Again, the fresh fish lunch was delicious. Both meals were very reasonably priced too. Luis, who speaks excellent English, and Lucy are very efficient, friendly, and do a wonderful job of catering to the needs of the customers. I hope they can open a lodging...
