We went to this restaurant on the advise of our National Park guide Lars who said it was the only place he could guarantee we wouldn’t get sick. Shortly after he was then serving tables and in the restaurant and having fun with the staff. Little biased perhaps? Or maybe it’s his place? The menu is over priced for a start, tourist hot spot in a national park, ok fine I understand this sometimes. I asked for prawn soup but there were no prawns so I opted for fish soup. My friends got their meals in 10 minute intervals which is frustrating because we all ate alone. When my soup came it was a large bowl of hot salted milk mixture with some fish and a whole heap of rice at the bottom. For 35 soles I expected more. If you are going to ask tourist prices then you should provide tourist service and meet standards that make a memorable experience for the good. The produce and labour are cheap in Peru, but unfortunately they seem to take advantage of this and cash in. The setting is beautiful but I couldn’t help feeling ripped off. I hope you have a...
Read moreMy hubby and I were just there yesterday because our tour guide brought us there and we were so surprised by the food, service and atmosphere. It is obviously a mom and pop place that really cares about their customers. My hubby ordered the mix fish and chips and I ordered a chicken chaufa. I told the waitress that I have a seafood allergy so to please make sure there were no traces of seafood in my plate. When I ate my food it was obviously that they did take all the precautions because there were no weird taste of seafood which usually happens if the cook people do not risen or clean the pot. There will be an aftertaste but in my case, it was none. I don’t like vegetables either but they way it was cooked, I did not mind it at all, it was very tasty. The place was very clean and the view of the pier was gorgeous. Definitely coming back here if I have the opportunity. I fully recommend this...
Read moreWe went for a coffee and it was such a weird experience. We went to sit down and the owners sat laughing at us and chatting between themselves. We waited 20 minutes to be served so my partner had to go in and ask. There was no one in the restaurant. While we were waiting different people kept coming outside just to stare at us? My partner went in eventually and they stood and stared at him for ages. They also said the coffee was now 8 sols, when it was advertised as 5 sols. The card machine also didn’t work for various cards. Very strange and uncomfortable experience, we’ve never felt like this in a restaurant before. We just wanted...
