Calicanto — Restaurant in Sachaca

We visited this place and ordered the chicharrón mixto. And, it’s really mixto! Pork, cuy, chicken, beef...🐷🐔🐮🐹 meat, meat, and more meat. No potatoes, no salad, nothing to balance it. It was too much for us to finish, so definitely plan ahead or share it if you're not that hungry.

The ocopa had good flavor but was a bit cold — maybe because we sat outside and it was already late in the afternoon. Something felt missing in the seasoning, though. Could’ve been great with a bit more punch. 👨‍🍳✨.

The outdoor garden area was nice and relaxed 🌿, and the staff was friendly and polite 😊.

BUT... be ready for the mosquitoes! 🦟 If you sit outside, take repellent — seriously!

really great traditional Peruvian food. very attentive waiters. the portions are impressive. Went here with Peruvian friends of family. A nice green space is adjacent to the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere with straw cabanas over your table so that you get shade. The bathrooms were clean and the setting was very nice. Seafood and Chicken were excellent! I would definitely recommend eating at this restaurant for quality...

We came here with a tour bus, the staff are rude and the place is overpriced for what you receive, the food was cold. Some plates were missing their sides and were still charged full price. They had no mayo or other condiments. If you are on a tour bus, use the hour to go to a restaurant/eatery...
