I’ve always been in pursuit of things (hence the username). That curiosity led me to explore different cafes over the years, both locally and internationally. 😊
Ranking them would be impossible because they all shine in their own way. Still, after visiting Batanes Little Cafe, I believe I found my number one. 😳
In today’s hustle culture, where productivity is glorified (I’m guilty), I always feel the urge to be at my utmost grind when I overstay at cafes, just to get some ROI on what I paid for. 😅
But during my time at this little cafe, I did not feel the need to be doing anything. It was okay to just simply be. So I stayed here for half a day, doing NOTHING. 🌊🌞
This cafe reminded me what life is all about: staying present and living in the moment. And that sometimes, the best pursuit is to simply breathe. 😙🌬️
I also got to meet the lovely owner and her adorable doggos living their best lives, chilling all day, and strolling along the beach as the sun sets. 🐾
As I turned 25 (three months ago, because this was supposed to be my birthday trip but it got cancelled 🤣) and the quarter-life crisis kicked in, I felt like my collective pursuits have led me here. ☺️

At first she told us very politely that they're closed for renovation, of course, we were broken hearted because it was on our list to visit and this maybe our first and last visit. But April was so nice and told us if we want we can still have "informal" service since she's making coffee for herself anyway and there's some pastries available that the locals made. We had mango and strawberry cheesecake, they were delicious!! But the best part is the spanish latte, it was the best one we ever tasted yet. We order spanish latte in every Cafe we go to, but April's was the one that really hits the spot. It's not overly sweet, it was just the right amount of espresso and sweetness! We were just amazed of our overall visit and how accommodating she is, very friendly!! It is a must if you're in Batanes, enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sunset or while enjoying the...
Read moreWent here twice (and requested delivery once) because of their melts-in-your-mouth cassava cave. Lol. It's a personal preference, but also loved the story behind how this cozy place came to be.
Thanks to the owner's hospitality (and her purposeful entrepreneurial spirit), Batanes Little Cafe is like your own personal space in Batanes (visit to see and experience for yourself) with top notch selection of drinks and pastries locally sourced from stay at home moms, working students, etc. Rice meals are also avaliable, but menu varies depends on the available supplies.
From their regulars, Spanish Latte and Caramel Macchiato are must tries, paired with 'bico', cassava or yema cake. But the tuna 'sinagang' with 'talbos'...
