Food - average Service - zero Atmosphere - too homey

Food was okay. Although the serving size was huge, the taste of ribs was dependent on its sauce, which I’m sure was just store-bought.

Service was extremely bad, as their staff were REALLY REALLY RUDE. The restaurant looks closed from the outside, so we asked the lady who was going out (whom we assumed is the owner/manager), and as I quote, “Bukas yan.” And she pointed us to the 4 staffs inside and said, “Eto oh.” The staffs inside were busy massaging their feet. We were the only customers that time, but no greeting was received from the 5 staff. One guy staff blasted some music while I was in a phone call, to which during our first 20 mins in the restaurant, there was no music at all. The food was served about 15-20 mins. While eating, I overheard the guy staff who rudely talked to someone who called to reserve a table. If there’s 0-star rating for service, I would put it.

Surprisingly, payment is cash basis only despite having several e-wallet and card...

We had a memorable dining experience at Johanna’s Grille in Bauan, where every dish felt like a warm hug from home. We ordered the Shrimp Rolls, Baby Back Ribs, Kalderetang Batangas (Baka), and Sinigang na Baboy—and each one was a hit. The flavors were rich, comforting, and distinctly homemade, just like how grandma would make it.

The Kalderetang Batangas stood out with its tender beef and bold, savory sauce, while the Sinigang had just the right tang to awaken the appetite. The Baby Back Ribs were fall-off-the-bone good, and the Shrimp Rolls made a perfect starter—crispy, flavorful, and satisfying.

For the quality of food, the pricing is just right—great value for money.

The only minor drawbacks are the slightly dim interior lighting and limited parking, as only street parking is available. But once the food arrives, you’ll forget all about it.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving authentic, homemade Filipino...

The food was very good, they serve foods which are not limited to chicken barbecue, callos, adobo, their famous baby back ribs, and more. They also serve appetizers such as nachos and fries. For my dining experience, I ordered fried and baby back ribs. Let's start with the fries, the fries were not that salty, and the fries were served hot; it also came with a dip. The nachos were also crispy and had a lot of toppings on them. The baby back ribs was very tender and falls off the bone. It was very flavorful and they were generous with the sauce that they put above the ribs. The prices are on the higher end, but the quality of the food makes it all worth it. (Unfortunately I failed to take a picture of the fries and nachos) Although the food was 5 stars, it took quite a while to arrive and the restaurant was not that packed. Still a great experience...

Johanna's Grille is one of our favorite restaurants in Batangas and I highly recommend this. We really love their Baby Back Ribs because it is so tender that the meat falls out right off the bone. We also tried the Chicken BBQ it really taste good that matches the sauce and the atchara(oh i love it) and the shrimp roll is so crunchy and tasty. The JD's platter is a must try also for a big tummy, it has the famous baby back ribs, corn and a choice of hungarian or frankfurter sausage with fries. They have two branches which is located at Batangas City, this is more spacious and well ventilated compared to the one in Bauan which is a little bit humid during our visit maybe because it is summertime but both branches has a classy arrangement and decors.

We ate around 10 am so we got served fast, around 15 minutes our food was already on our table. We ordered the XL baby back ribs and just added rice since their XL is ala carte. It was bigger than we expected and the serving size is good for two. For the price, it's justifiable. As for the taste, it's good but not remarkable. It can almost be compared to the slightly higher priced ribs in Metro Manila. The ambiance too is good. We came in a bit early and the staff are just preparing the area when we dined there. Overall, if you're craving for baby back ribs in the area, I'd recommend this place. Good prices for good ribs!
