Our first meal in Siargao was at Lokal Hub in Burgos. I asked one of their staff why it’s called “Lokal Hub,” and they explained that all of their ingredients are locally sourced. Outside the restaurant, there’s also a small store selling fresh vegetables and other local produce. On that side, they also prepare the drinks.
When you step inside, it feels like an old Filipino home—cozy and welcoming, with an open view of the kitchen. The chairs are nice, but I wish they had backrests. We ended up choosing the lower seats, which were more comfortable, but not ideal for lunch since you have to lean forward to reach the food.
Our favorite was their tortang talong (eggplant omelet). It was so good that even though I don’t usually like eggplant, I enjoyed it here. Their mango shake was also refreshing—naturally sweet, without milk or added sugar (since I requested it plain). For the wraps, we loved the adobo filling, though the fish one wasn’t quite to our taste.
The prices are reasonable, slightly cheaper than in General Luna. Their restroom is also clean and well-kept. Plus, they offer accommodations just a few steps above the restaurant.
Overall, what stood out most was the homey atmosphere—it really feels like dining in a friend’s house. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in...
Read moreWe were here a couple of times during our stay. Very hospitable atmosphere, friendly ladies working there and very good quality of food. The menu is short, which is a plus, but sometimes some items are missing - it is worth asking at the beginning what is missing. A few dishes are available in wrap and bowl form. The bowl is much larger due to the addition of rice, while the wrap is quite small and it is worth adding something to it. We were delighted with the home-made chips with calamansi salsa! They also have a phenomenal homemade coconut ice cream with roasted coconut - heaven! They also have flavoured rums: banana (the best in my opinion), pineapple (quite sweet) and mango (the least to my liking). This place also offers a...
Read moreThe setup of the open kitchen and dining area is really beautiful and striking when you walkin. It's got a relaxed atmosphere and the food is really great. It's still Filipino food but with inventive twists and an interesting style. Everything I've had from there is tasty. I love the adobo rice bowl which comes with an egg, veggies and pickles. The Tortang with dried fish fried rice is delicious too. The kinilaw is really balanced and when combined with rice can be a full meal. Really impressive restaurant. The prices are a little higher but after reading into their philanthropic efforts and taking into account the quality of food I feel it...
