Pacita's — Restaurant in Calbayog

Mixed opinion. The free nuts while we were ordering were very tasty. I wanted wine with dinner and although the wall was lined with wine bottles, they were all empty. The decor was nice but Christmas music and decorations in September??? I started with Cesar's salad. I understand that romaine lettuce and parmesan cheese are probably not available here, but they used a sweet mayonnaise based dressing and sweet Eden cheese, and some cheap ham instead of bacon bits. That along with small cubes of sweet bread for croutons made it almost disgusting. However, the vegetable lumpia although a bit sweet, were very tasty and I highly recommend them. Sizzling gambas had only 6 small shrimp but they added lots of baby corn and mushrooms to take up the space on the plate instead. Only 2 types of juice available, but the dragonfruit juice was very good. My partner ordered empalaya con carne. I can't tell you if it was good because, even though the waitress repeated it back to us with our order, she later told us that we didn't order it and that they didn't have empalaya anyway! Maybe menu items were not available, one 1 kind of beer, no hard drinks or cocktails, and no wine, only coke for soft drinks and only 2 of 6 fruit juices available. I would probably come back but I would probably try to bring in my own wine, if only to compensate for the little things...
