Dining experience at The Boundary Cafe & Restaurant was an absolute delight, immersing me in the authentic flavors of Filipino cuisine. Nestled in a native-inspired setting, the restaurant's unique ambiance, particularly the wooden-plated setup upstairs, added a touch of traditional charm to the overall dining experience.
One of the standout features of our meal was the exceptional service and presentation of their rice dishes. The fragrant and perfectly cooked rice was served with utmost care, reflecting the attention to detail that the restaurant puts into every aspect of their culinary offerings. The rice acted as a perfect foundation, enhancing the flavors of the dishes we ordered and leaving us thoroughly satisfied.
Undoubtedly, the star of the evening was the highly recommended baked scallops. These delectable treats featured plump and succulent scallops, elevated to new heights with a tantalizing blend of cheese, garlic, and aromatic herbs. The flavors harmonized beautifully, resulting in a mouthwatering combination that left a lasting impression. The baked scallops truly lived up to their reputation as the restaurant's best-seller.
Our culinary exploration continued with the bam-i, adobong nokus, sweet and sour grouper, and the mixed seafood soup. Each dish showcased the restaurant's commitment to using fresh ingredients and capturing the essence of Filipino cuisine. The bam-i, a flavorful noodle stir-fry, boasted a medley of vibrant vegetables and tender meats, creating a satisfying and well-balanced dish. The adobong nokus, a delightful twist on the classic adobo, impressed us with its succulent meat and the perfect blend of soy sauce and vinegar. The sweet and sour grouper showcased a skillful balance of tangy and sweet flavors, enhancing the delicate taste of the fish. The mixed seafood soup was a comforting bowl of goodness, brimming with an array of fresh seafood swimming in a flavorful broth.
To accompany our meal, we opted for the refreshing calamansi supreme. This delightful beverage, made from the tangy calamansi fruit, provided a burst of refreshing citrus flavor that perfectly complemented the richness of the dishes. Sipping on the calamansi supreme was a rejuvenating experience that added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining affair.
As our culinary journey came to a close, we decided to indulge in the espesyal Halo-Halo dessert. To our pleasant surprise, this traditional Filipino dessert surpassed our expectations. Layer upon layer of shaved ice, assorted fruits, jellies, and beans created a delightful medley of flavors and textures. Topped with a luscious drizzle of creamy milk, the espesyal Halo-Halo was a true revelation, leaving us wanting more.
The attentive and friendly staff Ney & Ysabel further enhanced our dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that our needs were met with utmost care...
Read moreMe and family have never been treated so poorly in other restaurants unlike this restaurant
We started our day that was so fun and ended the day defeated
We ordered 14 shakes 2 cheesecakes 1 calamari and supposedly have some pizzas but we were told that they dont have it in stock anymore
but when a group of people came minutes after us, we were perplexed that they served pizzas not just 1 but 2 or more to the people came later than us but we gave them the benefit of the doubt that they may have pre ordered the pizzas which is why they reserved it for the later group
so we waited and waited until we get all our shakes served and the cheesecakes but shakes were served separately some were served earlier and some were served after half an hour gap and no sight of the cheesecakes
they started busting off the plates because they said we were not dining anyways so we were fine with it but minutes gone by to an hour no cheesecake just the calamari and 12 shakes the 2 shakes were served when we finally decided to just leave and asked that the cheesecakes will be cancelled
We asked what kept them from serving the cheesecakes when there were cheesecakes displayed by the counter and we asked if they still have pizzas available and the lady by the counter said that pizzas are available
They acted apologetic and offered a discount if we will still purchase the cheesecake but sadly we have to turn it down because we no longer have the appetite to take whatever food they have in their menu
It is sad that they reasoned out that the waitress who took our order was in a hurry and left the order slip on the counter without confirming it plus when she was taking our orders she was just straight up showing her annoyance that was keeping her from logging out from her job
I mean we all deserve to rest from our tiring jobs but is it fair to treat your customers like us that way? dont we deserve a good service and all food available in your MENU?
We felt defeated and judged just because we came in not riding a luxury car that you mistreat and deprive us that way
Mind you that we paid for the food we ate and in turn the money that was paid to your establishment will contribute to your income which will benefit both you the owner and your employees
I dont think it will harm your business to train your employees to give good service to your customers no matter how they look like when they came in your restaurant
At the end of the day given that we were mistreated in this restaurant we are leaving this comment to voice out our sentiments and to give an insight to your...
Read moreThis restaurant is quite far from Moalboal town centre and Panagsama beach area, so one wonders if it is worth it for a trip here. In my opinion, not worth the trip, despite its great ratings. It is a fancy restaurant with a great ambience, with nice decoration and good background music, but it is very expensive, with moderate service.
We had a Sotanghon Guisado for 310 pesos, a Sizzling Bangus with White Sauce for 445 pesos and a Tinolang Isda for 395 pesos. The service Charge is 8%, costing 92 pesos.
Sotanghon Guisado is glass noodles stir-fry with a mix of meats and vegetables. Overall, the noodles tasted quite nice, with a fair amount of vegetables like cabbage and carrot, mixed with some meat which I believe is beef. For the price though, the portion is quite small.
With Sizzling Bangus with White Sauce, it is as the name implies, sizzling milkfish (Bangus) with creamy white sauce, which I have no idea what it is made off. I would say to avoid this dish, as the Bangus is very salty, spoiling the whole dish despite the fish being grilled quite well and crunchy. It could be my luck, but food at a restaurant shouldn't come down to luck.
Lastly, Tinolang Isda is a light and clear broth flavored with garlic, ginger and fish sauce, made with assorted vegetables and fish. The soup is very flavorful, enjoyable after a whole day of adventure. The fish is on the tougher side, which is understandable if the soup is the focus. So it might take some chewing if you don't want to waste the fish. Overall, a good dish to complement other dishes.
The staff is friendly, but can be slightly less responsive sometimes. There is actually service water, but the staff did not offer it to us, which is weird. For such a restaurant setup, one would expect the service to be up there as well.
The ambience is great. A nice cozy environment with soft background music. A great place for big family gatherings for a celebration, but you must be willing to spend here.
Lastly, the staff asked us to leave a review for a keychain as a gift, which I found disturbing. This makes me value the other reviews less as there are incentives given by the restaurant for customers to leave good reviews in Google Maps.
Anyway, this is my experience, and hope you can spend your hard-earned money elsewhere that...
