It was our second visit at this restaurant. At the first time we’ve had to wait around 35 mins for the food for one person and around 40 mins for meals for another two. As we knew that the place has just been opened recently, we didn’t even say anything to the staff, delays just happen. Yesterday, at our second visit, the waiting time was just unacceptable. We’ve ordered 3 the same burgers (I requested 1 of them to be extra spicy) and we had to wait 1:25h for first two burgers to arrive and another 5-10 mins for the third one. At the time of our visit there was only 2 tables at the restaurant: one with a couple already eating and another table of four receiving their meals. As we spent many years as hospitality business managers, we know that the beginnings can be difficult and that you gain the experience with time. But to achieve it, the standards of service have to be set up at the very beginning. Guests should be informed that delays are possible and what is the estimated waiting time while orders are being taken. If we were given this information at the beginning of our visit, we’d know what to expect and this negative comment would never exist. When I gave my feedback to the staff, she apologized but the manager/owner (?) sitting by the door was either never informed about my complain or just couldn’t be bothered. As a customer I just don’t care what the real reason was. The vegan burgers themselves were just unbelievably delicious, I haven’t had such tasty vegan meal for a long time. That’s why I give this place two stars...
Read moreOverall we had a very disappointing visit to Da Puno. The restaurant was fairly quiet (three tables including ours). We ordered one garlic bread which came out after an hour as plain bread with a fruit chutney (though the bread was nice, it wasn’t what we ordered). For main we ordered a spaghetti bolognese and a fries sharer which both took almost two hours to come out. (We also originally ordered the nachos but after half an hour of waiting we were told there were no nachos so had to choose again). The food actually arrived one minute before they were due to close.
The food was adequate, but having this as our most expensive meal in the Philippines and throughout our whole last 4 months of travelling Asia, seemed very expensive. We chased the food up multiple times and had to complain when paying the bill to even get the 5% service removed. I think there are vegetarian restaurants that provide better value for money.
When the food eventually arrived it was mostly nice, though there were some issues like lukewarm pasta on my dish and ice cold rice from our friend’s dish. There is good variety of options and the restaurant itself is nicely setup. However, we would’ve much preferred to have been turned away if they didn’t have the staffing required to...
Read moreUnfortunately didn’t have the best experience here. Came here as a group of 4. Food took well over an hour to come for 2 of us and over 1h30 hours for the other 2. There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant at this time. When the food came it was missing things it said it had on the menu and rice was cold so we didn’t eat it. Food itself was nice but we felt it was overpriced (the most expensive meal we have had in the Philippines!! there are other places in coron we’ve been that are much cheaper still with nice food). When we paid we asked if we could have any discount due to the time we waited and the cold food and they only took off the 5% service fee which we were a bit disappointed with. Sad because the place is very cute, has a great variety of vegan/veggie options & the staff were nice! Think it’s quite new and has lots of potential but they need to improve on...
