This place is good for groups or sharing. We ordered Grilled Squid on our first night in Coron but the waitress said that it's sold out; however I saw on other table that they are still serving the Grilled Squid. On our 2nd day of eating at Balay Karaenan I ordered Grilled Squid again. Luckily I got one but not too promising. The squid is not so good, as if you are eating a rubberband. Most of the food in the menu is not available too. My friend ordered Crispy Kangkong but tje breading is too thick. We tried their Bulalo--meat is no longer fresh. Looks like they've been reheating the soup for the past 3days. So, we finally get tired of eating there. Luckily we discovered KT's Sinugba sa Balay and Karl's BBQ!

Although it took longer than expected, the food was good and the portions were huge. To be fair, they meals cooked from scratched that’s why it took long. We ordered kinilaw and my companion wasn’t unsure if it was fresh, but it must just be an acquired taste thing. We also had pork adobo to introduce my companion to Filipino food. I thought the adobo here was unique because it had carrots in it. If I was not told that that was adobo, I would have guessed it was another dish but it was good and flavorful so I’m fine with it. Overall it was a good experience. Oh and they have wifi here.

What a hidden gem! We came here nearly every day to eat. The food is worth the wait, delicious and cheap. Chiksilog and inasal were particularly good. The staff really made it worth coming back, the warmest and most hospitable in the Philippines! Special shout out to Gaye (spelling??) And Sari. Thanks for everything ☺️

So delicious! I came here my last night in Coron with three Filipino families I met on my Town Tour. I'd mentioned I hadn't found good Filipino food in Coron, and they we're aghast and treated me to a HUGE FEAST! We pretty much ordered the entire menu, lol. Love that there are SO MANY veggie dishes -- veggies with seafood, noodles & veggies, chop suit, even veggie fried rice (Shanghai rice). We got the seafood platter feast -- yum! We got the chicken...
