Read moreWe've been dining at Hoogpaan for their à la carte menu, and the experience has consistently been enjoyable. However, we decided to try their breakfast buffet this Sunday as a group of 8, and unfortunately, it was a significant letdown.
Considering it was a buffet, our expectation was that the food would be warm and fresh. Regrettably, this wasn't the case. Imagine having to eat cold longganisa, pansit, and all their cooked meats submerged in cold, congealed fats. Even the champorado was served cold, and the garlic rice lacked the expected garlicky flavor.
The buffet was supposed to run from 7 am to 10 am, and we arrived around 8:20 am. To our surprise, when my niece requested a salad refill, we were told they had run out of salad. After asking again, they did refill the lettuce, but they seemed to have hidden the dressing.
Even the coffee service was disappointing. There were no refills, and when we asked for one, the staff merely tilted the coffee container, pouring out mostly leftover granules.
I sincerely hope that the owner of Hoogpaan comes across this feedback. We have genuinely enjoyed our à la carte experiences at the restaurant, and I fear that their negative reputation for the breakfast buffet could have a detrimental impact on their...
Read moreWe dined in last Sunday and was able to get a spot close to the window so we can view the beach without any distraction. It was a great spot when you want to eat in a place with a view. We ordered the Sinigang Salmon sa Gabi, BBQ, Mango Shake and Rice. The food was great and we all enjoyed the meal. I'll recommend that Sinigang to anyone who likes to dine in. The only downside was the staff only gave us 2 pieces of bowl and glass. We are a couple travelling with our 5yrs old son and he likes to eat and drink on his own. My partner tried to get the attention of the staffs, but when no one approached our table, he stood up and just asked for his own bowl in the counter. They also served the mango shake late. I was done eating, yet it still wasn't served. When my partner approached the counter, that's the time they served my drink. Hopefully this restaurant will consider giving the exact amount of utensils to the guests or they can ask the adults if they need another set for their kids. Hopefully they will also serve the drinks on time to their...
